Chapter fifteen

Piper was starting to hear voices, they were muffled, but they were all around her. It was echoing around the walls, meaning they were in a large building of some sort. As she focused on the voices, she realised they were frightened children.

Slowly she moved a little, finding she was lying on a cheap make-shift bed.

"Hey, Piper, you alright?"

Opening her eyes, finding the room coming into focus.

Piper was in a cage.

She looked over on the other side, finding there was Logan in another.

"Where are we?" She asked, slowly sitting up.

Her throat was dry, her lips were chapped. Making her feel like she had been walking through the dessert for months. She could feel her legs were weak, not ready for to stand up yet.

"I dont know" He answered. "Wherever we are though, its unbreakable to get out of this place. I cant break out"

Piper was a little confused on how he would break out, looking over at him, as he flexed his fingers. She watched as long silver bladed claws pushed out from between his knuckles. He swiped at the metal door in front of him, but nothing happened.

"Now, now Wolverine. Dont waste your energy my friend"

They both looked around, Piper forcing herself up onto her feet, finding a portly looking man, walking through the corridor that was between the cages. All the children had fallen silent as he walked slowly towards the place he was keeping Piper and Logan.

When he paused between them. Piper looked at his face, she had never seen this man before in her life.

"Tell you what, bub. Let the children go. You can do what you want with us, but you let them go. And I wont consider killing you" Logan stated.

The man sighed.

"I didnt think you would remember me Logan. Such a shame He looked over at Piper. Its you we really want. You are the big money maker"

"I have nothing for you" She fired at him.

He cocked his head to one side, smiling a little.

"If only that were the truth, you wouldnt be here"

He looked at all the other children that were there, as someone else started walking towards him. This was a woman, she was tall and slim, with wavy blonde hair. And didn't look happy about what was going on here, avoiding eye contact with the children.

"He's here" She then said.

"Excellent" The man barked. "If you will excuse me. Get comfortable. Shouldnt be too long before we proceed with everything"

"Tell us what you want?" Logan shouted after him.

The man stopped walking and looked back at him.

"Haven't you figured that out yet" He laughed, then kept going.

Evie walked over to the bars, she knew instantly that he wanted her powers. That if he could perfect the containing her powers, he could do that with everyone in the room. She looked around at the various children, who were all around the same age. Finding there was the girl Katy, and the guy who had carried her out, who she had spoken too earlier that evening.

She sighed, because she thought they had managed to get out.

"Don't worry. The professor will find us" Logan replied, seeing the look of fear creeping over her.

"I just hope that its in time, before he does anything to these kids" She replied, walking back to her bed.

Piper sat herself down, then looked over, finding Logan was leaning against the bars, watching her, and every so often looking around at the children.
