It had been a week, since the Avengers had gone out looking for Zemo. Finally admitting they couldn't find where he was hiding out. Evie had been keeping herself busy, working on fixing Tonys suits, finding she was good at tinkering away with them, and his cars. He was surprised she could do it, but this was where her university work had come in handy. She had maybe only been there for a couple of years, but those were good times. And she learned more than she had expected.

Evie didn't know that the team were home, thinking she still had the place almost to herself, ignoring the other staff that worked there. And the other Avengers all had other work to do. Bruce was always working in his lab, hardly ever went anywhere with the team.

She came out of the workshop, holding a wrench and having a couple of screwdrivers in her back pocket of her small denim shorts. She had been tinkering around with one of his older cars. Wiping her hands on an old rag as she had grease and oil on them, which as she looked down, finding she had it on her legs as well.

Evie walked into the lounge, pausing when she found them all lounging around in the place, chatting. But her eyes darted straight to Bucky who was sat over on a chair.

He too froze, looking over at her.

His eyes went from hers, over her face to the black vest top she was wearing, hugging her body, to the small denim shorts she had on. He almost forgot how long her legs looked when she exposed them. Remembering how they felt wrapped around his waist. Shifting uncomfortable on the chair, as he found she was walking around with no shoes and socks on.

His heart was hammering against his chest like a steam train, coming down the tracks.

"Hey Evie, how are you?" Steve asked, as he walked over.

They hugged.

"Good. I didnt know you guys were back. How did things go over in Sweden?" She ignored Bucky watching her, and headed to the fridge.

"Not as hopeful as we thought. But we wont give up"

"You working on that Shelby?" Tony called over.

Evie grabbed a bottle of water.

"Almost done" She smiled, "just needed a refreshment. Fridge is empty in the workshop"

"I'll get right onto it" Tony said. "Mind if I come check her out?"

"Sure"

They headed towards the door.

"Do you always wear such hot things when youre working on engines?" Tony flirted.

This made Evie laugh, before going out the door, she looked around at Bucky, seeing his fury in his eyes, that someone else was flirting with her.

Steve glanced over at Bucky, asking silently if he was going to be alright.

But Bucky ignored him.

"Somethings different about Evie. Has anyone else noticed?" Natasha asked.

Bucky said nothing, wanting off this topic.

"You think so?" Steve wondered if they were fishing.

"Yeah. She used to be so happy. I dont know. Its like shes hiding something or holding something back" Natasha explained.

Bucky got up from the chair, excusing himself.

They watched him leave, sensing that something was bothering him as well. She looked at him walking out the door, then quickly looked at Steve, as the pieces fell into place.

Steve brought his eyes back to hers.

Seeing it there.

"How long?" She whispered.
