I slowly wake up. My head hurts.

Amelia: Gura?

I sit up. I rub my eyes and look around. This isn't my house, or the hospital. I see desks, and a chalkboard. This is a classroom. Why am I here? I struggle to get to my feet but I do manage to do so. I look down. It's my pocket watch. Broken into pieces. I pick it up. I look at it in my hands, then I put it in my pocket. It's useless now but maybe I can fix it. I look out a window. There's a city, but I don't see anyone on the streets. The buildings look like they're abandoned. Did I go into a different timeline? This is gonna be trouble, I can't get back since my watch is broken.

I hear a snarling sound coming from the hallway outside the classroom. I limp over to the door and peak my head out. There's a guy standing there. He's acting weird. He's twitching a lot. He's facing the other way so I can't see his face but something is off about him. I look at his neck. There's a chunk missing. Like if someone took a bite out of him. He starts turning around. I quickly go back into the classroom. He starts walking towards it.

There's a closet in here, I hide in it. I can see through the cracks in the closet door. He walks into the classroom. He's pale, very pale. His eyes are lifeless and his clothes are covered in blood. He's wearing a school uniform. That must mean he was a student here. Maybe this was his classroom. Whatever he is, he's not human. Not anymore at least. I don't know what that thing is capable of, I'm just gonna stay out of it's sight and keep quiet. I just hope he doesn't have a good sense of smell. I'm lucky I woke up before he came in here.

He trips on a desk and falls down. Papers and a pencil falls off the desk too. He has trouble getting back up but he manages to get back to his feet. Judging by that, I'm guessing he's not really smart. Looking at the desks, I can see papers, pencils and some laptops. I look next to the desks and a few have backpacks next to them. It looks like people left this classroom in a hurry. I look at the chalkboard. An unfinished math problem. Theres also a map of the school next to it. I look down next to the teacher's desk. There's blood. A lot of it. I didn't notice that before. It's not fresh.

I stay in that closet for about an hour before that thing finally leaves. I leave the closet. I'm guessing there's more of those things, and judging by what I've seen so far, this world is overrun by zombies. This is very bad. My watch is broken so I can't go back to my timeline, I need to fix it but I don't have the tools or parts. I don't even know if it's fixable. I don't have my gun on me either. I left it in Gura's room. Maybe there's something in one of these backpacks that could be useful.

I start looking through the backpacks. Nothing but school supplies. As I thought. I take a pencil. Maybe I can stab one with it if I have to. I look out the window. I'm on the 3rd floor. If I were to fall from here, I'd break something, or multiple things. That would just make me zombie food. My only option is to make it out of this school without those things spotting me. I'm not sure if they can hear but I'm not going to risk it. I know they can see since they're not just stumbling into walls and stuff, though their eyes look like they shouldn't be able to see.

I'm guessing there's no power either. The only light in this room is from the sunlight coming through the windows, and it's setting. If I wait a little bit, it'll be night time. Those things probably can't see in the dark. I can't either but it's the best chance I got. Then I remember, there's a map of the school. I go up to it and start studying it. There's a stairway next to this classroom. I peak my head out the door and look at the stairway, then I go back to the map. I figure out the distance between here and the exit. I also figure out all the turns and obstacles I'll come across. I keep studying the map until it turns dark.

Now's the time. It's very dark. No electricity at all. I can only see outside because of the moonlight. I take a deep breath. Here we go. I make my way towards the door, and leave the classroom. I can hear footsteps coming from those things and the weird snarling sound they make. I can't see anything. I just have to trust my brain that I was right about the distances between stuff. If I bump into a trash can or something, it could be all over. I can also hear them bumping into walls. That means they can't see in the dark. I'll have to pay close attention to the sounds of their footsteps and snarls so I don't accidentally bump into them.

I start walking. I can hear them walking past me. I turn right to the staircase and start going down it. Slowly so I don't attract attention. I hear one fall down the stairs. It almost hits me but I step out of the way. I keep going down the stairs and successfully make it to the second floor. I turn left. I keep walking. I stop. There's a trash can in front of me. I go around it. I hear one walking towards me. I step out of the way and it walks past me. I turn a corner. I make it to another staircase. I start going down it. I didn't have any problems that time. I'm almost to the exit. I keep walking. The exit is just up ahead. I walk towards it when suddenly the school lights up. There's lightning. How'd it get stormy this quick?! It was just for half a second but just my luck, one was looking directly at me.

It leaps at me. I step out of the way. I can hear it looking for me. I keep walking, heart beating fast. I make it to the exit but they're crowding around it. I can't get through without bumping into them and risk getting bitten. I then remembered the pencil I got from looking through the backpacks. If I throw it, maybe the noise will attract them to it and they'll clear the exit. I take the pencil from my pocket, then throw it. As I thought, the zombies start rushing towards the noise. The exit clears. I go through it and make it outside. I sigh in relief. I made it.
