Gura's pov

I'm left in my Amelia's room, alone. Being in this house brings back memories that both upset me and bring me happiness. It upsets me because I miss her. I feel a mix of emotions when I think about her, love, sadness, anger, and happiness.

I look out the window. Seeing all these zombies reminds me of when this all started.

Gura: Ame, do you think we're safe?

Amelia: I think so, I think the police and military will handle this. It's only been a day, so don't worry too much.

I'm sitting in her kitchen while she's making tea. We've done this a lot. It's nice, sometimes she'll invite me over and we'll have some long talks. I like it. Not only do I like the talks but I get to spend time with her. It's relaxing too. Well, usually. This time is different. This time, what we're talking about is worrying. There's been what people are suspecting to be a disease going around that makes people go insane and try to eat other people. They tear them apart. It's very disturbing and very scary.

Amelia: Try not to think about it too much. You'll just make yourself more worried. Come on, let's sit on the couch and watch a movie.

I nod.

Gura: Okay.

We take the tea to the living room. We put it on a small table and sit on the couch. Ame puts on a movie. It's a comedy. An hour into the movie I look at her. She fell asleep. I smile. I head upstairs to her room to grab pillows and blankets. Once I do, I head back down stairs and put a pillow under her head. I also put a blanket over her. She's been working hard lately. She deserves some good rest. I lay on the other side of the couch and fall asleep.

I wake up a few hours later. I look over at Ame. She's still asleep. I need to use the bathroom. I go upstairs to the bathroom. I use it and once I'm done I head into Ame's room. I see a journal on her desk. I go to read it when I hear screams from outside. I look out the window. I see a crowd of people running. It looks like they're running from something. I keep looking. I then see another crowd of people. They have blood on them. They're chasing the first crowd of people. Suddenly I hear explosions and gunshots.

Amelia: Gura!!!

Ame is calling for me downstairs. I run down the stairs.

Amelia: I was wrong, you were right to worry.

Gura: We need to leave the city, maybe even the country, we need to go to the airport.

Amelia: No, the airport is probably filled to the brim with people there's no way we'd get anywhere. First, let's call the others and see if they're okay.

Ame calls Ina, Kiara and Calli. They're all okay. Suddenly the news comes on the tv. It's showing some strange girl and... Mumei? Mumei doesn't look too happy. I can see the tension between these two. They're standing a few feet apart, staring each other down. Suddenly the ground starts shaking around the strange girl and Mumei. The news feed cuts out.

Amelia: This is worse then I thought, this isn't a regular disease. If Mumei was angry at that girl I assume she had something to do with this and I assume she's not some regular human. She started all of this. I don't know how or why but she did. Let's stay here for now. Barricade the doors, close the blinds and keep quiet. We don't know much about these things but let's assume they can hear and see.

We start barricading the doors and closing the window blinds. As we're doing so, we hear screams. A lot of screams. We hear people dying. One thing Ame can't stand is hearing people that need help and not helping them. In this case, she doesn't have a choice. Chances are if she goes to help someone, they'll both die. I can see it on her face. She wants to help them but isn't going to. She's silent. Eventually the screams stop.

Gura: Are you okay?

She takes a few seconds to answer.

Amelia: I'm fine. We need to make a plan. This city is just gonna get worse as time goes on and I only have so much food and water we can live off of. I need to study these things. I need to see how they act, what they're capable of and how smart they are so I can make a plan. I just don't know how I'm going to do it. For now, we just observe. Never open any blinds from the first floor, but in my room, you can take a peak from my window and see how they're acting. Just don't draw attention to yourself. Again, we don't know how smart these things are. All we know is that they're deadly.

I nod.

Gura: I think for now, we should rest. We don't know when we're going to lose the luxury of resting whenever we want but I have a feeling it's going to happen and soon.

Amelia: That's true.

She sits on the couch and sighs. I go upstairs and take a peak out the window. The city is now filled with these things everywhere. I don't see any survivors. Maybe we're the last ones. That's terrifying to think about. There's so much going on. By the looks of it, things aren't going to go back to normal. I'm also worrying about the others, Ame said they're fine, but for how long?

It's starting to get dark. I go downstairs. I look at Ame. This is the most worried I've ever seen her. I can't blame her. This is a nightmare. I sit next to her. She wraps an arm around me and pulls me close.

Amelia: No matter what happens, I'm going to protect us, and once we find our friends, I'm going to protect them too.

I smile softly.

Gura: Yeah..
