Chapter Twelve

Third POV
" What the fuck was that" Austin exclaimed, "her...her eyes and the growl and.." the boy mumbled. "What are you talking about" Blake asked playing dumb trying to save a situation "what am I talking about have you seen her face w...what?" Austin was scared and madly confused "you're high,  dude all of you are high, she has been unconscious all this time," Harlan said addressing everyone. "Okay maybe but what about an animal. There's something out there." the boy argued "No, no. It's just a possum, okay? Stop trying to scare the shit out of everyone." Phoebe said "It wasn't a possum." "It had dark fur, and its eyes were reflecting the light." " Yeah, I think I know what a goddamn possum looks like, Phoebe.""Everything's spinning. I think I need... I think I need some air." Tia said and was about to go outside if Phoebe didn't take her hand " Don't."  everyone looked through the windows "I don't see shit." one boy said "I do. " Cyrus replied "Where?" "You see the Buddha? Right behind it." " Oh, shit"  "What the fսck was that?" " I told you it's out there. " Austin breathed out "If I were you I would get away from the windows." Alice's raspy voice was heard everyone looked back at her and got away from the windows "you all right," Blake asked concerned "yeah I'm fine I think" Alice got up and walked up to her friends and mates.  There was one boy standing alone with a scared and confused expression "Are you okay?" Alice asked  "I can't... remember my name." the blond boy said "Okay, how much did you take?" Everett asked " I can't remember." " It's okay. It's just the shrooms," he assured "I can't remember my name." the blond boy continued  "It'll wear off."Everett said but Alice had a suspicious look,  "Blake, turn the light off" the girl did so. "fսck this. I'm leaving." one boy said "Go for it. Nobody here knows you anyways." Harlan said, "I need to lie down." Tia dropped unctuoussius " Tia." " Is the possum going to kill us?" Phoebe asked " No." Blake answered " It's not a fսcking possum! He saw it, too." Austin continued " Stop it. You're scaring everyone, asshоlе." Blake said " They should be scared."  "Okay, just keep the doors locked." " Everyone stay inside. Because whatever's out there, it's the same thing we saw on the freeway during the fire." Everett said. "Do you have mountain ash with you" Luna whispered to Alice "no and even if I did it would be very hard to explain especially after they saw my face and all" Alice finished "well they believed that they were high so..." Blake said quietly "When we were on that bus, when all the animals came running out of the woods, it wasn't just because they were scared of the fire. They were scared of something else. Austin saw it first. He tried to warn me. It has dark fur, black and brown. If it stood to its full height, it'd be over seven foot, at least 500 pounds. The fire drove it out of the woods. Now it's here in the city.  It killed Connor." Everett explained "What? I thought Connor was just missing. " Phoebe said "He's missing 'cause they never found his body." " It killed a cop. It killed my nurse and a doctor. It's killing people every night." Everett continued " Say it.  Say what it is. Everett.  Say it." Austin looked at him " It was a bear. A black bear." " You fսcking liar! You piece of shit! God, you lying prick! Get the fսck off me!" Austin screamed  "Hey, hey. Jesus. Calm down." " Oh, yeah, everyone look at me like I'm crazy, right! I know what I saw. And when it's standing right in front of you, about to rip your fսcking head off, you'll know it, too.  Oh and you all saw her face two and don't you fucking dare to say I am just high" Austin shouted the boy was panicking. "Calm down animals are sensitive if it hears your screams it might attack us" Alice said "Fuck you all I hope it will fucking kills every one of you" he said and left the room." Wait. What happened to the other guy?" Everett asked  "Who?" " The blond-haired kid, the really quiet one. " "Where did he go?" Alice asked remembering the boy " Who are you two  talking about? " Luna asked "The guy who was standing right behind me. He was really high. He could barely remember his name." " That's not high. That's brain damage." Harlan said " No, he was right here. What if he went outside?" "Did he come here with your drսg dealer?" Phoebe asked "I'm not a drսg dealer. More of a facilitator." " He's probably one of Tia's friends. I'll go out and find him. Anyone wanna facilitate me?" Cyrus said and his mates smirked at it "I will come with you" Harlan said "me too" Alice looked at the boys they went up to the doors "you don't need to come with us" Cyrus said looking at the girl. "If you two get killed, how are we supposed to go on a date?" she smirked and left the house the boys followed her.
The teens went toward the woods "you hear something" Cyrus asked the boy "no, Alice can you smell something" "mmh anger but there is something else confusion," "what" "yeah you know I have a theory that boy didn't remember his name and I don't think he was high or something" "so what you think it was then "I really believe he doesn't know his name or what he is" "no don't say you think it's him" "I'm not saying anything but sometimes it happens when a human forgets who they are a wolf takes control and they become more animalistic and act on their primal natures." the girl explained they walked in a silent for a few minutes when Cyrus broke it "what happened to you" "what do you mean" "you passed out" Alice thought about if she must tell them or not she just didn't want to make them worry about her. "Something is going on with me and I promise I will tell you everything hell I can even show you if you want to but let's just deal with this first," Alice said in the end "okay" the boys nodded. Suddenly Alice's phone buzzed. It was a message from Blake "police are here, they have something against Cyrus and want to arrest him don't come back" The girl showed the text to her mates "shit and what are we gonna do" something was hiding behind the bushes "Cyrus get back" Alice said standing in front of the boy in a protective manner  "Don't move." Kristin said  "You see it?" "I see it. Harlan... run. " the teens ran away when they heard gunshots  "What was that?""I don't know don't stop go" "where do we go police is after me" Cyrus said panicking "my house" "your father is a sheriff" "I know but he won't say anything we just need to get out of here and I will hide you" Harlan said and they ran toward Harlan's house

  "Those were warning shots.  I'm not here to hurt you. Not if I don't have to. I know you can hear me." she said but it was like she wasn't telling these words to the teen she was talking to someone else " I don't know how much you can understand. But you get the general idea of what I'm saying. I'm not afraid of you. But you know that. You hear the steadiness of my heart. My voice is calm. No scent of fear. But if you come at me, don't think I won't defend myself." the werewolf sneered. She couldn't see it but it wasn't far away "I can help you. You don't have to stay like this. I can bring you back. I can help you control this. Let me help you."

The teens entered the house and they went to the stable from the back door "what are we going to do now" " I don't know why do they think it was me" "I don't know but you haven't set the fire did you," Harlan asked "no I didn't" "repeat it" "I didn't set the fire" "okay yeah you're telling the truth" out of nowhere the teens heard static noise "what the fuck is that," Harlan asked "wait, you hear it too" it was something new only Alice could hear before "yeah I do" the three figures appeared "doctors" Alice whispered remembering what one of them told her in her dream "who the fuck are they" Cyrus panicked "chimera," one of them said in a creepy voice "what the fuck you want" Alice shouted standing in front of her boys trying to protect them. "Chimera," they said pointing at Cyrus and disappeared  "what the fuck was that" "I don't really know but they are the reason I passed out and that I acted off for a few days already" Alice said "I thought I was just going crazy but you saw them too" "oh yeah we sure did and what the fuck is Chimera and why the fuck they pointed at Cyrus" Harlan asked with a panic "I don't know" "a lion with the second head of a goat's and a tail that ends as a snake." Cyrus murmured "what" "Chimera" "still I don't understand why they pointed at you" Harlan looked at Alice "tell us you said you would explain so please tell us" "I can show you," The girl said and made her claws appear she went up to them and stuck her claws in their necks. She gave them a few of her memories of when she saw those things. "They were in my house before," Harlan said quietly after she was done "yeah and I had these nightmares when I couldn't wake up, for a few days now" "why didn't you tell us""you had so much to worry about I didn't want to bother you with this too" Alice said looking down "no, no promise you will tell us when something is wrong" the girl was silent "please" "okay I promise," Mccall said and put her head on their shoulder.
