Chapter Fourteen

Third Pov
Everett opened his eyes and sat up. He was breathing hard and was covered in a cold sweat. He looked up and saw a naked guy standing against the wall. "I know who you are." the teen breathed out " I know your name. Can you remember your name?" Everett stood up and tried to come closer to the boy who was sitting near the wall. The boy buried his head into his legs "I can help you. You need to remember who you are. You have to remember your name. Your name... is..." Baron looked up and growled at Everett " Aah!" he disappeared. Everett entered the bathroom and looked in the mirror. In the place of his reflection, he saw Baron who turned his back on him. The teen was getting scared more and more as time passed he didn't even know if it was real or just a dream that turned into a nightmare. The teen heard sneering behind him and he slowly turned. There was the naked boy standing in front of him. His eyes were gold and soon enough the boy was covered in fire. Painful screams were heard all over the room. The boy disappeared again. Everett left his room. And looked around. Baron was appearing and disappearing in different places in the house. He ran at Everett. And he hid behind the counter. "can't. I can't, I can't. I-I can't. I can't! I can't stop it." Baron was repeating again and again "Stop what? Stop what?" Everett looked back "It! From hurting people." Baron was sitting on the stares "It hurts people every night." " Doesn't hurt people. It kills them. It kills every night." "I know. It's not me! I can see it happen. I can feel it. I'm not the one doing it. I wouldn't do this. I wouldn't." the water poured from upstairs and not so dead Phoebe appeared "Everett, he can't stop himself. Everyone around you... he'll kill them all. And then he'll come for you." she warned "But we're a part of his pack." Everett said quietly "Not if you make him angry. Not if he doesn't like you anymore. Then you're just... another... threat." the dead girl said "But he needs a pack". "He doesn't need you. He can always make new ones." "Who's next, Phoebe? Who's he gonna kill next?" the girl opened her mouth and the music was heard soon enough she disappeared and The night turned into the day "What the hell are you doing? Don't you have school? Are you all right?" the woman said coming down the stairs.

"He was here. She was below him on the stairs, right here." Everett explained to the others "Where were you?" Harlan asked "At first, over there, behind the counter." " What were you doing over there?" Blake asked " Hiding." " Hiding?" " Yeah. He was fսcking scary. If you woke up with a naked the guy in your room, you wouldn't be scared?" " No," Harlan said and Alice chuckled "Was he actually here or not?" Mccall asked "It's more like he's in my head. Or I'm in his." the boy said " But why are you in our brother's head?" " How should I know?" " It's the same way we were connected to Everett when we could feel his anxiety." Luna guessed "That's not the same." Harlan looked at his sister "Then it's the same as last night. I didn't wanna kill Garrett, but... that's what we were all about to do, isn't it?" " She's right. I wanted to kill your dad, like, fսcking rip his throat out. That's in your head, not mine." Blake said "I was angry at Garrett because he gave Cyrus to the cops. I don't wanna kill him." " we would have if Alice didn't stop us I don't think he would be alive now," Blake said "Baron wants us to stop him. I think we could even figure out how to change him back. But if he kills Austin tonight, it's because of us." Everett said "You sure it's gonna be him?" " It was the same music he was playing on the piano. Austin's next. I don't care how much of a dick he is... We have to do something." " Like what?" "Maybe we could lure Baron somewhere and catch him. Then we have to figure out how to turn him back to human. We know silver bullets work. Also wolfsbane works too." " So you wanna hunt down and catch a werewolf?" Blake asked "Yeah." " For real?" " Let's catch a werewolf." "There is only one thing we just need a good plan," Harlan said, "I think I have one" Alice looked up "I was thinking about it this whole time, let's say it's really dangerous, risky and there is 90% that it won't work but it's still a plan" with that Alice started to explain her plan "you sure it will work" "well I had kinda done that before but last time resurrection wasn't in the plan," the teens looked at her confused "Peter the Alpha that turned me his cousin killed him and when he came back he wasn't a monstrous animal anymore" Alice explained "okay so how do we kill Baron and bring him back"Everett asked "we will freeze him slowing his heartbeat making him almost dead. when you freeze, your heart stops, but your brain keeps working. The brain can live for 3 minutes without oxygen. In this stage, he will be kinda dead Once the heart stops and it changes to human, we're actually bringing the human back." Alice finished "How?" " CPR, epinephrine, and a defibrillator. The thing is, he has to be cold. Again I'm not 100% sure that my plan will work" "that the best plan we have so" Luna said "first we need to figure out how to freeze the thing." Everett looked at them " How about the freezer?" Harlan suggested "What freezer?" " Garrett told us that Ramsey brought him to an overflow morgue, and they had a medical freezer. It can go to 70 below." the boy remembered what his father had told him. "Well, then all we have to do is get Baron inside, lock the door, and wait for him to freeze." "how do we do that," Blake asked "Austin"

Blake and Everett drove towards the motel. There were a lot of police cars and Blake left the car as soon as it stopped. "You have to let me in. My family's in here." the girl ran up to her father " Dad!" " Hey, Blake!" " Danny! Where's Danny?" she panicked " He's fine. He's okay. He's sitting in the car. He's over there. "The man said "What the fսck happened?" " What did you do?" " I didn't do shit. Danny... He found a body in the bathroom." "What body?" the body was taken from the motel room in the black body bag. "Why would it bring her here? Why bring Phoebe here?" Blake asked quietly " I don't know. But I'm gonna find. I will go talk to Harlan about the plan. I think Luna and Alice are talking with Austin" Everett said "okay let me know about everithing" the boy left "Danny, ease up. You're hurting my hand. We know her. You remember her, right?" the girl asked her brother "I remember. Yeah, from the parking lot." "No. From the parking garage." the boy said "No, the lot. Right outside the motel, over there, when I was running. Remember? Okay, fine. Parking garage... Whatever you wanna call it. Don't stare." Kristin came up to them "You know we're gonna need to talk about this, right?" " How about this time with a lawyer?" The man said "She's not being accused of a crime. Although the fact that you and Phoebe were such close friends does raise a lot of questions." Ramsey said looking at them with a Hollywood smile "So we'll bring a lawyer." the man repeated "Of course. Will you be needing a court-appointed lawyer, or will you be paying for one yourself?" " Oh, look at that, Blake. She's just like you. Goes right for the throat." " I'll talk. As long as you promise nothing happens to my brother... I'll tell you whatever you want to hear." Blake sighed "I believe you." " You're not gonna believe me." "I think I might surprise you on that subject. Both of you"

"Does Everett know?" Austin asked "Yeah."Luna looked at the boy "So he lied." " I don't think he wanted to." " fսck him. I'll do it." the boy said "The whole thing?" Alice asked surprised "You two just said it's gonna kill me anyways. I'll do it." That's it? You don't... you don't wanna ask any questions about... " Luna continued awkwardly "No. Actually, yeah. I know you've had a crush on me. But do you actually like me? " Now it was Alice's time to feel awkward "I meant questions about..." "This is my question. Do you like me?" " Yes." the girl breathed out and looked into the boy's eyes, "Yes, I like you." "No, you don't." "I like you sometimes." " When I'm not a complete asshоlе." Austin guessed "Which is only sometimes. Probably a little less than that." "You like me a little less than sometimes?" "Yes." "I'm good with that." "Okay love birds establish your relationship  later we have the werewolf to catch," Alice said making them both blush "wait yesterday at Tia's, your face..." Austin said looking at Alice. The said girl flashed her eyes and showed him her claws "I have a story weirder than this if you want I will tell you after everything is done" Austin just nodded "If I won't die" the boy said quietly to himself but Mccall heard "you won't, nobody is dying today except that werewolf" the girl assured patting the boy's shoulder.

"Okay, this is good. I feel incredibly vulnerable and completely exposed." Austin breathed out and entered the roof " Perfect." "We'll see it coming."Luna said "How far do you think it could track me by scent?" the boy asked "An ordinary wolf can smell its prey a mile and a half away." " Prey? Like me." the boy was scared "I'm sorry." " I saw it take Phoebe. I didn't see it kill her, but it was dragging her body over the sunroom. And I didn't tell anyone, because no one would believe me." "We believe you. And by the way... I don't think you're an asshоlе." Luna faced the boy "I can be a total fսcking asshоlе." "But it's not your default setting." the girl assured "So all I had to do to get you like me was be the bait for a werewolf that's probably gonna kill me. Can't believe I didn't think of that first." suddenly the teens heard a sneer they looked to the left and saw the giant werewolf. "Oh, fսck me." Austin breathed out. The werewolf wasn't doing anything just looking at the pair "What's it doing?" " I don't know." " So what do we do?" he asked "It's because of me." Luna assumed "What?" " It's not coming after you because of me. It has to see you as a threat."she explained quickly "Okay. What do I do? Threaten you?" "Hit me." the girl said "What?" "I need you to hit me." "I can't do that." "If you don't do it now, it comes back and it kills you some other night. Austin, please. Hit me." "I can't do it." Luna hit slapped his face hard "You don't think I can take it? Come on. Hit me back, asshоlе." "I can't" Luna was about to hit him again to make him angry and flip the switch but Austin just caught her hand and kissed her. They heard the growl "Did that make things worse" "Austin run" the teens ran. The werewolf was hot on their feet. Luna locked the door "go...go" the teen ran out of the building and the werewolf jumped landing right behind. But it wasn't Austin it was Alice in the same hudy running faster than the creature. She ran into the garage going toward the freezer. She ran as fast as she could. The werewolf growled. Everything was going according to plan for now. Mccall ran into the freezer luring the monster in. Suddenly she turned and flashed her eyes. Alice ran at the werewolf and slid between it's legs. And ran out of the room closing the door behind her. Austin made a line with mountain ash near the door and the teens just held it waiting for the werewolf to freeze. In a few minutes, the growls and sneers stopped and they opened the door. Austin broke the line and they got in. There was a naked Baron lying on the floor. "Guys there is no pulse"Blake said panicking "Start CPR."Luna said "Me?""Anyone!" " Wait, I-I need the shot." "The epi shot. Where is it?" Everett asked "It's supposed to be in the bag." Alice looked around. Austin entered the room "I got it. I got it right here." he said and with that he stabbed Baron with a silver knife. The boy screamed out. Everyone was shocked and scared nobody knew what to do.
