Twenty Nine

Jungkook quite literally wanted to laugh when Jimin said Nancy will be waiting for him at home.

He wish! God, sometimes he really wishes that Nancy was here with him, for him. Maybe then things would've been different.

He's a human after all. And no human is immune to the concept of maybe.

There are so many things that goes inside his head that sometimes he wants to scream at top of his lungs and let all the suppressed feelings out of his heart.

Nancy.

His childhood friend.

His best friend.

His wife.

Jungkook had quite literally thought about this a million times since the moment he realised his feelings for Jimin, that Nancy, his childhood best friend is his wife only by law.

Now that he thinks about all the six years spent with her, not only Nancy but he himself has always seen her as her best friend.

Jungkook love kids. He truly loves kids but when Nancy got pregnant three year ago, his wife had freaked out. She was so out of it when the results came positive. She didn't want kids.

He was happy at that moment. He was so happy to be a father. But for some reason, Jungkook couldn't imagine looking after a baby with Nancy.

She's always gone, for fucks sake!

How was he to handle a child without a mother? Jungkook doesn't blame Nancy for choosing her career. They both were too young to have kids. Twenty three year's age is too young to handle a baby for Jungkook and he never wanted to have a baby for the sake of having a baby, so he supported Nancy's decision for abortion.

It was a mutual decision and Jungkook doesn't regret it.

But when he thinks about the three years after that pregnancy, Nancy never really talked about having a family.

It was always them. Two best friends bound by law in a relationship. After that pregnancy, Nancy always took her birth control pills seriously. She can forget breathing but she could never forget her pills.

She also always made sure that they got intimate with a protection and Jungkook never questioned it, never really said anything against it. He knows that it is Nancy's body and the decision to bear is a child will also be hers. Period.

But at moments like this, when he comes back to an empty house, living almost bachelor life even though after being married for six years, he feels hollow inside.

Nancy is never home. There's no family for him to come back to and for some reason he wants to talk to Nancy about it.

He's not sure if he wants a family with Nancy anymore but he still wants to know, what his best friend...... his wife actually thinks about the idea of having a kid with Jungkook.

He will never be the kind of man to force their partner to do something that they don't want to do. Yes, it will always be Nancy's decision when and whether she wants a baby, but Jungkook wants to know if his desire is even entertained or not.

Hence, even though he feels tired, not only physically but also mentally, he calls Nancy. He calls her three times before she pics his call.

"What is it Jungkook?" She says, her voice still telling that she's angry and Jungkook wants to say sorry and finish this fight and go back to his normal but he holds it in.

"When are you coming home, Nancy?" He asks in a soft voice. He doesn't want to come off as rude by any means. He loves her, even though he has realised that it is platonic.
