The weather in Japan is starting to warm up and though Jimin prefers winter, the arrival of summer this year feels like a fresh start in his life.
Two months have passed and June feels just like how it should feel and Jimin is content. He's not happy but he's not sad or heartbroken anymore as well.
Roaming around Japan and discovering so many new things have been his therepy and he's also made friends.
"Jimin-san we need to go to the office now, we've been doing the 'field work' for 3 days now and that too in Okutama where there's nothing related to our work." Kenji says while walking towards Jimin with a cup of coffee. "Here, your frappe."
"Thank you Kenji. Where's Izumi?" Jimin asks when he doesn't see his other friend.
"Ah. She must be sleeping. She's even more pro than you. Leaving this place seems like a last concern on her mind." Jimin smiles at that and shakes his head and takes a sip of his coffee. It tastes divine to him.
"Let her be." He says and looks at Kenji. "Do you not like being in nature?"
Kenji smiles at that. "It's not that I don't like being in nature, it's just that we're literally bunking our work and staying here for nothing that is related to our work." Jimin giggle at that and Kenji playfully slap Jimin on his shoulder.
"You're a bad company for me! I never did anything like this before." He says and they both laugh softly.
Jimin resigned from GCF and took the first flight available when he reached the airport and landed in Japan. For the first week, all he did was stay in a hotel and cried his heart out. He didn't step a foot outside the hotel, not for a walk, not for food and not for anything. His heart was too heavy to let him walk and fall down flat on his face, so all he did was sleep in his room and eat takeouts.
The guilt of leaving Eunwoo and the sadness of finding and loosing his true love in the matter of eight months was not something that was easy to let go. He's still not over it and he doesn't know how long will it take. He's just taking one step at a time.
Around the end of second week in the middle of the night, when his tears had given up on him and his heart was getting sting by the broken pieces, he decided to step out and see where he actually is.
Tokyo.
That's where he was and for some reason he liked the idea of not going back to Korea anymore. He can just stay here. Away from the cause of his guilt and away from the reason of his broken heart.
So he roamed around the busy streets of Tokyo that night and looked at everything for a second more than it was actually needed. The buildings, the street lights, the shops, the pedestrians. He ate at three different shops and drank at all of them and by the time he wanted to go back to his hotel, he was already drunk.
That's when he met his new best friend in another country. No one will ever replace Yoongi, but Kenji is nothing less than a boon in his life.
He doesn't remember much of that night but a fast car moving in his direction while he was too drunk to stand straight was hard to forget even though all other incidents were nothing but a blur.
And he remembers someone pushing him to the other side of the road on foothpath and a heavy weight on him that had quite literally sobered him up.
Kenji had fallen down on him like the angel he is and had taken him home that night. Jimin doesn't remember telling him anything but he also knows that the man knows everything about his love life. He had tried asking Jimin when he was sober after a month in their friendship, but Jimin was too ashamed and Kenji never mentioned it again. He had just said that, "if you need anyone to talk about it, just know that I'm here," and Jimin couldn't be more grateful for it.
They work together for a small Ayurvedic pharmaceutical Company as delivery agents.
Yup. He's not working for fashion industry as of now. There were too many chances of meeting Jungkook, if Jimin worked for a well known fashion company, so for the time being, until his broken heart is getting mended, he decided to take up the offer that Kenji had given him when he woke up the next morning.
"I don't want to go back." Izumi says with a yawn while rubbing her eyes and walking towards both of them.
"You're a pain in the ass and Jimin has just made it easier for you." Kenji scolds her and she walks straight towards Jimin and hide behind him while peaking at Kenji.
"Jimin is a darling and you're a devil. Stay away from me, devil! Shoo!" She says sassily and Jimin laughs at their banter. They are always like this and it brings Jimin so much peace.
"Okay okay, stop!" Jimin comes in between them while they were busy slapping the heck out of each other's shoulder. "Stop, I said. How can you both fight every single day?"
"He started it!"
"She started it!"
Both of them shout at the same time and Jimin closes his ears because of the loud voice.
"I am leaving." Jimin says and walks away from his childish friends, smiling to himself and shaking his head.
This is good. This life, this new company, his friends, it's all really good. He likes it and sometimes, he even believe that he's at peace.
But that's all what it is.
A believe. An illusion. A facade.
Because at night, when he's alone and not in the company of his new friends, or working at the company as a delivery agent, he wanders at the possibilities.
The possibilities of his life in Korea alongside his best friend, his loved ones, working his dream job and enjoying his favourite food from his favourite restaurant.
He also thinks of the possibilities that are not going to be possible. Ever.
The possibility of having a life with Jungkook. The possibility of them enjoying random day-outs and casual dinners. The possibility of them eating their favourite cheese hamburger together with french fries and going for a walk in the park at 2 am.
These ideologies of fake possibilities are so dangerous for Jimin, like a sleep paralysis, where he forgets the reality and gets lost in the facade of it all, and just like that, his believe of being happy with his new friends, in a new country, working a very different new job gets shattered and the pieces of those shatter pierces in the most vulnerable part of his heart, the heart he doesn't want to think about, forcing him to bleed when all he wants is to not feel the presence of his heart.
He will wait for the day when this will get easy for him and the pieces of his heart that does not even belong to himself.
