After eating dinner together, Jungkook decided that he should first ask Nancy about her trip and he'll see how it goes and if they can talk about more serious matters.
He wanted to give them a chance and for that he has few conditions that Nancy must know and accept. He will not just go and end this relationship on a whim of emotions because if humans start to do that, there won't be any long lasting relationships. He knows that he loves Jimin but he belongs to someone else and so does Jungkook.
And even if he was to make a decision on his relationship, he doesn't have any right to interfere in Jimin's personal life and its decisions.
So going according to the whim of his emotions and destroying not one but two lives is not something Jungkook will do.
He'll talk to Nancy honestly about how he felt in the last few months and how he needs her to put efforts in this relationship if she wants to keep it as much as Jungkook is trying to do too.
He is hoping that she'll understand. He'll have to talk and see though. So he decides to do it tonight. No more stalling things away.
They are both laying on the bed facing each other, with Nancy's eyes closed. She must be tired.
"Nancy?" Jungkook whispers.
"Yes Guk." She opens her eyes and looks at Jungkook with a smile.
"Can we talk?" He enquires.
She nods. "Yes, we can." She then starts caressing Jungkook's cheek with her left hand. "Tell me what is it that is bothering you so much? You've been... a little different lately."
Jungkook closes his eyes. The caress on his face is so familiar, so comfortable that he just wants to sleep with it. He doesn't get this warmth often, so it is very natural to relish in it and avoid the hard talks.
But he knows that he has to be open about his feelings. He has to keep his points and conditions in front of Nancy to create a safe place for his mental health and the loneliness.
"We're married for six years now." Jungkook says.
"Yes. Yes we are." Nancy smiles, her hands still in motion on Jungkook's face. Her touch is light and loving.
"Yet I feel like we're still only best friends and not husband and wife." He whispers and Nancy's caress comes to a halt, her smile faltering a little.
"Guk, but----" Jungkook interrupts her.
"Can I finish first?" He asks moving his hand forward and holding her hand that was resting on his cheeks until now.
She thinks for a bit and then nods, managing to give a small smile.
"I understand Nancy, that traveling has been your first priority for so long. No one knows it better than me and you know that too. I have always supported you in your passion just like you have done in mine."
"Nancy we've best friends for more than 18 years now and I am so lucky to have you of all the people as my bestest buddy." He says and then squeezes her hand a little to show her than he means everything he's saying.
"But monkey, we're also married and we've been married for six years now and there was not one single day where I've questioned our marriage. For me, it was like meant to be." Jungkook takes a deep breath and looks in Nancy's eyes. "Until recently."
"Jun---"
"Shhh."
"I didn't mind you going away for months and months sometimes even for a whole year until recently." He says and continues.
