When the morning came by, Jungkook decided to go to the office after lunch. He still needs to talk to Nancy and make a clear path that they need to follow to give their relationship a chance.
He has two conditions that he's going to put forward in front of Nancy. If she's willing she'll accept it and work on bettering their marriage and Jungkook will make sure to give her priorities an equal chance.
She's sleeping currently and Jungkook decided to make breakfast for them in the meantime. He goes with simple scrambled eggs and vegetable pancakes.
By the time his breakfast is ready, Nancy is awake, so they sit together and have breakfast in silence. There's a nervousness around them and Jungkook cannot blame anyone but the situation they're in.
He decides to not beat around the bush and be straightforward about his conditions.
"Nancy, I will be very honest with you and I will expect the same in return so please be honest with me, okay?"
Nancy nods, playing with her food more rather than eating it.
"I have two conditions." Jungkook says and Nancy looks up from her food to catch Jungkook's eyes.
When she doesn't say anything, Jungkook take it as a sign to continue his point.
"I know you love traveling and I will not ever stop you from doing that but I want you to prioritise our marriage as well and for that I need to know that you are okay with these conditions or not. So tell me if you don't feel comfortable and we'll take steps accordingly, okay?"
She nods again.
"My first condition is that I want you to travel six months and stay the next six with me in Korea." Jungkook states.
He observe the visible reaction Nancy gave to that point. She immediately looked restless and ready to argue and make her point.
"But Guk--" Jungkook interrupted.
"My second condition is that when you're traveling, I want you to have regular conversations with me and not vanish away for days and weeks. I need to know that you're doing well and not in some trouble."
"Guk, six months in Korea! That's too much."
"Nancy this is not just about staying six months in Korea, but also about our time together. This is the chance that I want to give to our marriage." He said, moving his hand and engulfing Nancy's in an assuring manner.
"If we do this, I will also make an effort to understand your passion and to live it with you, and I promise to spend one month every year travelling with you."
"I promise to-----" He was interrupted by the chime of his phone that was set by his personal assistant via linked email to remind him of important tasks and meetings.
I don't have a meeting until after lunch. Jungkook thinks to himself and pick his phone up to check for any remaining task or file he has to review for further process.
He opens his phone and sees a CCed mail from the HR department that was marked important by Rhea and was to be approved by today.
And when he opens the email, his eyes wander to the subject line and all the air leaves his lungs as if he's not sitting in his home but drowning in the deep end of the ocean.
Letter of Resignation - Park Jimin
"What happened Guk? Your face looks pale. Everything okay at work?" Nancy asks worried and Jungkook doesn't know how to react other than running to office.
But Nancy holds his hand looking concerned and rightfully so. Jungkook himself can feel his heart racing at an inhuman speed and not for the right reasons. He can feel his lips all chapped and dried because of the sudden shock.
