Sahiba was sitting in the garden under the stars after having her dinner with a sweet melodious music running on her phone's Spotify. She is fond of gazals, soft music, some dance music and specially Malkit Singh a lot. Sahiba was patiently listening to Mohe Rang Do Laal by Shreya Ghoshal. She loved the beauty of this song a lot.
She was listening to the music with her eyes closed and a soft dupatta wrapped around her bare hands trying to relax after a hectic day. It had been a week since the fight with Mr. Arrogant Singh Brar and they were royally ignoring each other whenever they came face to face.
Something which they both saw an eye to eye was their hatred for each other. But Sahiba was bewildered with the fact that Manveer and Inder had started talking to her softly. They were neither rude nor interfering but just soft with her which she was appreciating at the moment since it was something her heart needed.
Sahiba knew that something must have happened with both of them because the intensity with which both of them loved Angad being the fact that he is their only son, they should have never wanted to see her face in the first place.
Distraught by events happening and herself not having a single idea about the environment Sahiba sighed not knowing what to do next.
"I knew that would find you here, Sahiba." She heard a strong voice and she knew exactly whom it belonged to.
She quickly removed her earphones and stopped the song. She then turned to find Daarji and Bebe looking at her to which she lowered her eyes and touched their feet as a mark of respect. Daarji blessed her with lots of happiness which she clearly craved for.
"Why are you still awake Daarji? It is past your rest time. Is something wrong?" She asked making sure that nothing was out of place to which the old man just smiled.
"No my child, I just wanted to tell you something. Angad's business partner and our family friend Mr. Randeep Ahlawat are coming to our home tomorrow for lunch. They couldn't attend your reception so they would want to meet you. Please be present my child." Daarji said with a soft smile running on his elderly face.
Sahiba had already guessed the hidden meaning of his statement. She knew that Daarji wanted her to pose as Angad's wife once again after reception. She wanted to retaliate immediately but then she saw the pride and happiness on Daarji's face she couldn't oppose him.
She knew what she is about to do. She is about to enter the Brar family's matters again which her so-called husband clearly warned her against but she had no choice. She has to comply to Daarji's wishes. Sahiba was aware that she can't disappoint this man. Anyone else except 2 people- her father and Daarji because they have supported her through thick and thin.
Sahiba agreed to which Daarji replied in delight, "Gurleen will give you some clothes sweetheart. Please wear them as token of respect since this lunch is kind of your post-marriage function and I wish to see you as a proper bride of the Brar family."
Unwillingly Sahiba agreed and the grandparents took their leave.
Sahiba slapped her forehead in anger, disappointment, grief and guilt.
She still remembered the showdown which happened after the reception night. She was sure that this torture is not going to stop.
-------------Flashback---------------
Everyone has left the mansion and the Brar family is standing surrounding Sahiba with Angad gripping her hand so hard that it could leave an impression.
"How dare you go to the police?" He roared but it didn't scare her.
There she was standing with a straight and confident posture along with her eyes meeting his fearlessly.
"I wanted to know about my sister's whereabouts what is the problem in that?" Sahiba asked with agony.
"You know how she deceived us and then also you lied about your hunger and left in the middle of the night to the police station without even thinking the fact that media could grill all of us?" Manveer said with attitude in her voice.
"Manveer is right with her point, Sahiba. I thought you considered me as your family and you would approach me if you have any sort of problem but you don't. You straight away ran to the police station not thinking about any of us." Daarji said with disappointment in his voice.
"Daarji, I know that but this is was my problem and I wanted to sort it out on my own since I am aware of the fact how my sister's betrayal hurt all of you. I didn't want to put salt on your wounds by asking you to find out about my sister so I went alone but no one heard me." Sahiba said.
"Then why did you lie that you went to find food? Answer me." Angad screamed.
"I will if you let me. I never told you that I went to find food. Remember that night and tell me, was I the one who told you that I need food and I went outside to eat in the middle of the night." Sahiba questioned Angad with same level of anger.
Everyone heard her and questioned themselves which made them realise that she was indeed telling the truth. She never said that she went to find food.
Jasleen was sweating in fear that Sahiba is again saying the truth which can target her because she is the one who told everyone that Sahiba went to eat something outside due to unbearable hunger. 'Why does this girl need to say everything?' She thought.
"Everyone just questions me, accuses me and they keep going on and on and on. But why doesn't anyone listen? I want to find my sister because I think she might be in any situation she shouldn't be in." Sahiba said.
"Why do you think that? And don't even think that we are interested in knowing where she is because she is dead for all of us. We don't care about her." Angad said.
"I know that but she is my real sister. My blood damnit! I cannot stop caring about her even if I tried to. I just want her safe." She said to which Manveer replied, "Whatever you do just finish this police business as soon as you can and you don't need to give us the details."
"Understood mam" Sahiba said with forced smile and left.
