Chapter Twenty-one

Umeji's POV

I climbed out Shins window and landed on the ground. I waved him a goodbye, but I wasn't going. I hid behind another building, I had a gut feeling something bad was going to happen. It did. Shin dropped from the window and ran, the somehow his leg turned lopsided. I was in such a state of shock that I just stood there, breathless. I saw other parts of his body twist and turn then Ayano put a finger to the air and said.

"Stop your bullshit"

I shuddered at her demeaner. All of a sudden she left and Shins limbs were back to normal. I stared.

"What the hell . . ." I whispered. I ran to Shin to see if he was awake, he was not. I freaked out, did a stupid ghost do this? Was it Fun Girl? I million thoughts rushed through my head, tears started to stream down my face. I thought he was dead. (He is not)

"Were am I . . ." The boy in my lap yawned. I quickly wiped my tears away and hugged him.

"I thought you died" I laughed nervously.

"Who are you?" Shin whispered as he pulled away.

"W what?" My heart skipped a beat out of fear.

"Oh . . . It's Umeji!" He looked relieved. He hugged me back.

"You should probably get home haha!" I told him

"Owww why do my legs hurt so much" He winced, the sight of his legs twisting and turning flashed in my head.

"Mm I don't know . . . you should get back home and get some rest ok? You are gonna have to climb through you window though..." I pondered.

"Ok" Shin yawned and went to where his window was and climbed in side, wincing though. I felt bad but I went back to my house and went to my room to chill.

Before I knew it it was 6 am. I grabbed my stuff, including my lunch, and ran out the door to Shins place. I waited for him to come out but, nothing. I decided to text him.

"Hey where are you?" He replied back immediately.

"Did I break my legs last night?"

"What?"

"Well my family took my to the doctor and he said it looked like I had broken my legs and that they were in the final stages of healing, I'm confused."

"Well if you broke your legs last night you wouldn't be walking right now"

"Yea I guess you're right"

"So are you coming to school?"

"I will but I'm going to be there super duper late, just go ahead and go to school without me!"

"Ok . . . I miss you"

"I miss you too now hurry up and get to school!"

"Are you my mom now?"

"No-"

"You sound like her"

"Ok just get to school"

"Okayy mom"

"Ugh" With that I was walking to school, I quickly spotted my friends. They asked me where Shin was but I lied and said that he was sick. I didn't want to tell them what Shin had told me. Then we walked to school. I mostly was talking with my friends. Shiromi would pass by, I don't know why but she gave me the creeps. She always had that smile on her face, I swear if she saw a murder happen she would still have that same smile on. It freaks me out. The bell rang and I didn't really feel like going to class. I heard there's this new substitute and . . . I don't wanna go to class after I heard all those things about her. I hid in the Incinerator room, then I remembered Shin was going to the same class. I saw him walking to the school entrance, I immediately grabbed his arm.

"Hey I heard the substitute is kinda wack, do you wanna skip class and not risk it . . ." I whispered.

"Oh well she can't be that bad! Well just go and see! If she is I am A OK in skipping"

"Ok . . ." We walked to our class and there she was, Mida. My mind immediately went 'PEDO PEDO' I tried to shut it up. As class went on I noticed she was taking a liking to Taro. Why him? Taro looked extremely uncomfortable. I wanted to yell at her so bad! I could tell she noticed how angry I was getting and stopped. After that she didn't try anything today, which was nice.

"Ok yea, I'm opting to sluf" He sighed.

"Me too" I replied.
