Chapter 15

Max's POV:
I woke up, feeling warm and cozy. I slowly opened my eyes, and waited a few seconds as they adjusted to the sunlight. I saw El still asleep beside me, and my arm still around her waist.

"El." I whispered, snuggling up closer to her. "Wake up."
"Noooo." She mumbled sleepily. I chuckled, El's never been a morning person.
"Come on." I looked at the alarm clock on her bedside table. I squinted, barely being able to see the lines and numbers. "It's 8 am."
El turned to face me, "Do you have a session today?" She asked.
"No?" I answered, wondering where this was going.
"Then we can stay in bed." El concluded, laying on her back.

"What? Everyone's already awake, I can hear them walking around downstairs." I said.
"So? 5 more minutes." She said, closing her eyes again.
"Fine." I said, giving in to sleepy El. I was super comfortable anyway, so it didn't bother me much.
"Come here." She said, putting an arm around my waist and pulling me so I was laying on top of her. I chuckled and lay my head on her chest. I wrapped my arms around her torso as she put a hand on my back, and the other she used to slowly stroke my hair.

"Your hair is so pretty. Just like you." She said quietly. I felt heat rise to my cheeks, and I hit her arm.
"Shut up. You're prettier." I murmured, my cheek squashed against El's chest.
She giggled and I smiled. As I felt myself falling asleep, El lifted her hand off my back, and used it to pull the blanket higher so now it was up to my shoulders.

I held her close as I felt myself drift off, feeling safe in El's arms.

I opened my eyes for the second time this morning, still laying on El. I lifted my head slightly and looked at the alarm clock. 10 am. We slept for another 2 hours?!

I sat up quickly, and heard El stir in her sleep. "El!" I said, shaking her by her shoulder. "Get the hell up!"
"Why?" She mumbled, her arms still around me.
"It's 10! We slept for an extra 2 hours!" I said hurriedly.
"Calm down, we'll get up." She assured, letting me go before slowly sitting up. She rubbed her eyes with closed fists, getting the sleepiness out of her eyes.

"Max. I just thought of something." She said out of nowhere.
"What?" I asked, sitting up straight.
"We should go skateboarding! You can relearn it!" She said excitedly.
"That's gonna take ages El! My balance is shit now." I said.
"You won't fall. I'll use my powers to keep you on the board, and I can move it slowly. It'll be so fun!" She said, quickly getting out of bed.
"I don't know El..." I said, unsure whether this is gonna work or not.
"Come on, please! You still like skateboarding right?" She asked.
"Yeah, of course!" I said.
"Then you'll enjoy it!" She grabbed my hands, helping me off the bed before quickly fixing it with her powers.

I sighed and walked into her bathroom to get myself cleaned up. I guess I'm gonna skateboard again.
