Chapter 23

Max's POV:
Eventually we made it to the store, and we each picked out a skateboard. Mike and El payed for them and we stood outside.

"Alright, now where's the skatepark?" Dustin asked.
"Not far from my trailer. It's like 20 minutes walk. But, if we skate we could make it in 10." I answered.
"We don't know how to skate." Lucas said.
"Well then you can learn. We have loads of time till sunset." I said.

The boys put their skateboards on the ground and stood on them, shaking their arms like crazy. I cringed. "No, put one foot on the board and push with the other. And when you gain momentum, put both feet on the board." I advised.

They did as I said and Will managed to skate a bit before falling sideways. I sighed and looked at El. "Wanna try?" I asked her, "Maybe you'll beat the boys. Not that it'd be difficult to." The boys all argued and I laughed.

El hesitated for a second, "I'll do it." She said.
I smiled, "Go ahead."

We watched as she ran quickly, throwing down the board before getting on it, effortlessly skating around us. She shook a bit but not once did she fall. Our mouths opened in awe as she skated. After a bit, she stepped on the tail of the board and held it by the nose, walking back towards us.

And I thought she couldn't get any hotter. Guess I was wrong.

"How the hell...?" Mike trailed off.
"How did you do that El?" Dustin said for him, shocked.
"Max." She answered simply, "I've seen her skate lots so I just copied what she did."
My heart melted, that's cute as fuck.

I smirked and clapped my hands, averting everyone's attention to me. "You did amazing El. Now everyone do what she did."
They all sighed and put their skateboards on the floor. Will stood on it and pushed with one foot, managing to skate.
Mike did the same after a few attempts and the others slowly followed.

And half an hour later, they had all managed to skate for 5 minutes without falling. "Well done! We can go to the skatepark now." I said.

The boys smiled and skated ahead while El walked beside me. "Wanna skate?" She asked.
"My balance is shit." I chuckled.
"I could help you. Or you can just ride with me." She offered.
"What do you mean, 'with you'?" I asked.
"We both go on the same board." El answered.

"Alright, let's do that then." I smiled.
She smiled too and stood on her board. "Come here, I'll hold your board."
I handed her my new board and stood in front of her.

She put one arm around my waist and used her other hand to hold my board. "Ready?" She asked.
"Yep, don't go to fast though." I said.
She laughed, "Can't promise you that."
Before I could say anything else, we began moving.

I held onto the arm that was around my waist tight as she sped up. "El, stop!" I said.
"Wait, we can beat the boys." She said, speeding up even more. I knew there was no way she was doing this just by pushing, "Are you using your powers?" I asked.
She chuckled, "Maybe."

I screamed as we shot in front of the boys, the surrounding trees looking like a blur. "EL!" I screamed, holding on for dear life.
She just laughed and held on tighter. I literally felt like the wheels would fly off the board with how fast we were going.

But luckily, we reached the skatepark. We slowed down, not too harshly, before I felt like I could breathe again. "For fucks sake." I panted, "You're an asshole, you know that right?" I said, stepping off the bored.
"Hey, it was fun!" She answered.
"Was it really? Or was it just the adrenaline from a near death experience?"
"Both." She answered proudly. "We should do it again."
"Oh hell no. I'm never doing that again."

"Come on! It wasn't that bad." She said, sitting on the grass nearby.
I shook my head, "Nothing's gonna change my mind." I said, sitting beside her.
"Really?" She asked.
I thought for a moment, "One thing could change my mind." I said.
Her eyes lit up, "What?" She asked.
I shrugged, "You've gotta find out."

She huffed and rested her head on her hand. "Fine then, I will."

She caught me by surprise by quickly kissing my cheek, going back to her old position before I even had time to comprehend what happened.

I blushed and looked at her, "What was that for?" I asked, smiling.
"I just wanted to." She laid down on the grass, "The others are taking so long."
"Well, we were going like 60 miles per hour. I'd say we were pretty far ahead." I remarked, laying beside her. We both laughed.

"If they're really that far, I can do this." She rolled onto her stomach and leaned over me, kissing me softly. I kissed back and smiled.

A few seconds later, we heard shouts from the boys, meaning they were finally arriving. El pulled away, smiling and kissing me once more before laying beside me again.
"You're sneaky." I said, blushing hard.
"You're beautiful." She answered, looking at me.

That just made me get even more flustered, and I sat up as the boys arrived.
