CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

OLIVIA LIED IN BED HER HEAD RESTED ON RAFE'S CHEST, AS HE SLEPT.

She had woken earlier and had decided to stay in the position, thinking.

She was engaged. She was engaged to Rafe. She was engaged at the age of twenty. Though she didn't regret it at all, all she could think about was her parents reaction.

Would they react well? She was less worried about her mother and more her father, they had just gotten into a better place would the engagement ruin it?

Though the two weren't going to get married until they were both ready, she was afraid of her father's reaction.

She could feel Rafe bellow her moving slightly.

"Morning baby." His morning voice was deep and it sent shivers through. "Morning."

Olivia sat up on the bed turning towards him. "I'm gonna see my parents today."  Her hands began to play with the shirt of his that she had on.

Rafe nodded. "I can uh, I can go with you."

Olivia shrugged. "You can if you want. I just wanted to see them." She looked down at her ring. "Gotta show them this. Wouldn't want my dad to kill you."

Rafe groaned before pulling her to straddle his waist. "How long you gonna be there for?"

"Couple hours maybe. You could get some of the stuff on the list done." Olivia suggested shrugging. "Or we could stay here in Outer Bank run the businesses together and that'll be that." Olivia joked even though she had actually thought about it. She paused as she noticed Rafe's face.

"I'm joking." She winked playfully at him leaning down and kissing his cheek before she got off the bed.

She turned to look at Rafe who was deep in thought.

"Rafe. Chill I was just kidding. I know we have to handle everything here then go back." She let out a sigh before walking inside the bathroom.

She began to get ready as she would be heading out soon. Once she finished she noticed Rafe walking into the bathroom.

"Can you drop me off? Before you go do whatever you need?"

"Yeah of course." Olivia nodded beginning to head to the closet.

"Your idea." She turned her head to his voice. "Hm?"

"About staying here."

Olivia nodded. "I mean think about it. We could if we wanted to. I mean we're engaged now, we're adults we can't stay by your dads side forever."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Olivia smiled at him lightly looking up at him.

"I'm by your side Rafe, always." He nudged his nose with hers before kissing her.

She pulled away slightly. "Let's go."
