CHAPTER THIRTY

OLIVIA HELD ONTO RAFE'S HAND AS THEY EXITED THE CAR.

They began to look around for a few minutes before Rafe spoke up. "I don't see shit. You sure this is the right spot?"

Carla Limbrey the woman called out replying to him. "It's there. The garment will be in the cross. And the cross will be at the foot of the tree.

Renfield called out from beside her. "Well whatever we find, I get my cut."

"The actual garment. You understand the significance." Carla said. She was leaning on the car as she watched Rafe and Olivia search. "I do Carla. Completely."

"One touch of it, and I'll be healed and this long nightmare will be over."

"Your lips to gods ears."

Clara scoffed. "I know you don't believe it but countless stories prove it." She began to sit down in the chair that he had pulled out for her sighing. "Miracles happen."

"Wait stop!" She said to the men working. Olivia removed her arm off Rafes chest.

"Do it by hand boys!" Carla said getting up. "This has gotta be the cross."

"That was quick." Olivia muttered. "Baby, why don't you go sit down over there? I don't want you to get hurt or anything."

Olivia shook her head. "You can't bring me on a treasure hunt and not let me see the treasure, but yeah I'll stand back." He nodded. Rafe moved closer to Carla. As they looked down at the hole the men were working in.

Carla began to speak. "It's smaller than I thought." She said chuckling. Olivia moved closer wanting to see for herself.

"I don't know, kinda looks like a-" She started before Rafe finished her sentence. "Casket."

Carla turned to look at the two. "He put it in the casket." She laughed again. "Denmark put it in a casket. Get it up. Lets go!" She began ordering the men.

Rafe and the man began to pull up the casket. Placing it on the ground. If it weren't for the situation, Olivia would have said Rafe looked hot.

Rafe tossed the man a tool. "Be careful." Carla spoke. Olivia had stepped back watching them open the casket.

"Don't touch anything inside! Don't touch anything inside!" Carla repeated.

"Well they have to open it first." Olivia muttered.

Rafe and Renfield opened the casket stepping back.

Carla who had kneeled down looked into it with a smile on her face that quickly turned into a frown. Olivia stepped closer to see what they were looking at exactly.

Renfield spoke up. "It's just a corpse. Sorry Carla." Carla slowly began to stand up.

"We must have missed something." She said as Olivia reached into her bag pulling out a water bottle and handing it the Rafe who was panting.
