CHAPTER THREE

OLIVIA HAD COMPLETED NUMBER ONE ON HER LIST. She had done coke that night. Rafe had watched her every move to make sure nothing too major happened to her.

He had walked her home that night.

She headed up to the front door. Her dad had said he would be welcome to take her home but she hadn't want him to see her high or anything of the sort. But she hoped he had made it home for dinner, though it was unlikely.

Her mom was always home unfortunately after she had lost her job due too many 'sick days' from being on the mainland at the hospital to staying home with a sick daughter. Olivia always felt guilty her mother loved her job she always felt guilty being the reason why her mom was let go.

She was very fortunate that her father was able to keep them steady with his job as the constant
bills, checkups with the doctor and hospital rooms had worn her out.

She paused as she unlocked the door. "Hey mom I'm home." Olivia said fully walking through the door. "Mom?"

"Oh I'm here." She responded walking out the kitchen.  Olivia frowned as she noticed her mothers red puffy eyes. "Mom are you ok?" She asked walking towards her.

"I'm fine sweetheart." She replies.

"Are you sure-"

"Did you have fun?" She said changing the subject quickly. "Yea I guess, I went to a party." Olivia spoke lightly shrugging. "You did?"

"Yea I did, saw Sarah to."

"Oh really that's great! How is she?" Lisa asked walking towards the living room Olivia following behind.

"Sarah? I think she's alright. I know I shouldn't be making friends." Olivia said frowning lightly. "No I'm glad your making friends as long as you're not missing checkups you're fine." She sniffed a little.

"Are you sure you're okay mom?" Olivia asked worriedly. "I'll be fine I just wish he came home tonight." She spoke smiling sadly.

"I'm sorry mom." Olivia responded patting her hand before she placed her head in Lisa's lap. "Its not your fault." She assured her running a hand through Olivia's hair. "Did you get drunk?" She asked. "No but I tried. I ended up doing three lines of coke instead."

"Olivia!" Lisa gasped slightly. "I'm totally joking mom I mean do I look like I did any of those things?" Besides she only done one line of coke.

"Totally off topic but I'm going to a country club tomorrow." Olivia said the subject of the conversation changing.

"Oh fun,  haven't been there in awhile tell me how it goes." She says. "Wait I can go?" Olivia looks up at her confused. She nods her head. "Why wouldn't I let you go?"

"Well I was hoping you would say no so I could stay in bed all day." Olivia says sighing.

"No thanks, kinda tired of seeing your face around here everyday." She lifting her head off her lap slowly standing up to leave. "Oh well I don't have any other excuse."
