"We will never get out of here!" Mandy cries, while shaking her head over and over again.
As if she couldn't believe that we'll get out of here alive.
"Haven't you heard what I was saying?" I ask. "Mandy, this plan might be our only chance of escaping!"
When she looks at me, I can feel a cold shiver run down my spine.
For a millisecond, there was something in her gaze, that looked pretty much like hate. As if she'd really despise me.
Does she blame me for getting here?
I mean, I blame myself sometimes. But does Mandy really hate me because of it?
'Cause she might die because of our friendship?
The flash of hate vanishes just as fast as it appeared. Making me doubt, if it was there at all.
"You don't get it, Fay." she sighs while thick tears make their way down her cheeks. "They won't let us escape. It's impossible. Haven't you seen how protected this building is? How many people are here to work for their boss? The boss who wants to see your boyfriend dead. We are here because of him, Fay. Why can't you see?"
Uncontrollable anger overcomes me. I ball my hands into fist and clench my teeth together when I say on a threatening whisper,
"It is not his fault." I hiss. "It's the peoples fault who want to see him dead. Mason did nothing wrong, Mandy. So please, don't twist it the way you jut did and assume that 'my boyfriend' is the reason we are in here. Because it is wrong."
Whoa, I've never confronted her like this.
But just the thought, that Mandy blames the person I care most about in this godforsaken world, makes me so overwhelming furious, that I see fucking red.
When my eyes meet hers again, I can see a flash of panic.
Do I scare her? Oh god, I don't want my best friend to be fucking terrified by me.
Mandy swallows and then gives me a small nod. "Alright. Where should I begin?" there's still a little touch of uncertainty in her voice, but her head is high in braveness. Ready to get the hell out of here.
A small smile make's it's appearance on my face, and then I tell her exactly what she has to do.
