"That was refreshing." Dandy stated as he exited the bath swiftly.

"Dandy, I was wondering if, now that we're engaged. Are we still staying in separate rooms?" I asked shyly as I also exited the bathtub.

"What a weird question. But I guess I don't know. What would you want us to do?" He asked and dried himself.

"I guess I would like it if we would at least share a bed." I said hesitantly but forward.

"Then we'll share my bed." He said with a smile.

He went out of my room to change, I suppose, and left me alone.
I decided to wear my pajamas and went downstairs.

Once I entered the main hall, I almost bumped into Gloria.

"Oh, hello, my dear." She said with that quiet voice.

"Hello." I said while she looked me up and down. "Oh, I hope it's not a problem, that I wear my payamas to dinner. If it is, I'll change right away!"

"You know, when Dandy was younger. He always insisted on wearing a different outfit to every meal. At least, that's what the nannies told me." She said in a sad tone.

"You didn't eat with him?" I asked quietly.

"I didn't know how. I was always scared to be with him. You know. Always afraid to do something wrong." She went on. "Please wear whatever you're comfortable with."

"Thank you. Gloria." I said hesitantly.

She went upstairs and I went into the dining room. It was quiet, and I felt awkward. Then Dora came into the room with some plates.

"Oh, dinner's not ready yet." She said with half a smile. "You look much more like yourself." She added.

"Can I help you with anything?" I asked, completely ignoring her statements.

"You don't have to, but if you want to. I guess you could place the silverware." She said and put the plates down.

I just nodded and went to get the silverware.
"Dora?" I asked. And she hummed.
"What was dandy like when he was little?" I asked.

"I already told you. A spoiled brat. And he still is." She said plainly.

"Then what about Gloria?" I asked, and Dora looked down.

"I don't think I'm in the position to tell you what you want to know." She said quickly.

"Dora. She'll be my mother in law. Don't you think I should know?" I asked sincerely.

"Maybe you should have thought of that before your engagement to Dandy." She said and gave me the side eye.

"Please don't judge me. I value your opinion, even if it hurts my feelings." I said and looked at her.

She didn't say anything. She just looked at me.

I placed the silverware and went to leave the room but Dora spoke up again.

"I believe that she tried her best. It definitely wasn't enough, but she tried. I spent more time with that boy than she ever did. I think she knows that was wrong, but didn't know any better." Then she nodded and I left.
