My head hurt, my eyes burned, and I felt like vomiting my guts out.

"You know I wouldn't let him hurt you. Don't you, Ethel?" I asked, but she didn't reply. All she did was pat my back.
"Then I should go now." I finally said and got up from the ground I was sitting on.

"You can stay in my trailor. I'll get out the extra blankets." She said and stood after me.

"No. I'm going home." I said and huffed, exhausted.

"You are home, y/n. This is your home. This is where you belong!" She cried out in defeat. And made wild hand gestures.

"Not anymore. I will marry Dandy and I will live with him. Far away from here, away from anyone I've ever known." I said and turned around to her. "And do you wanna know why?" I said and waited, but she didn't say anything.
"Because I can't lose either of you. So the only way to keep both of my families safe is to keep them as far apart from one another as possible."
I said and left the tent.
