She walked into the studio carry four cups of coffee in a cardboard holder. Her white coat on, immaculately turned out as per usual. I had noticed this, she takes pride in her appearance. She likes to look nice, I personally believe that it's to help boost her confidence. But what do I know? Ever since that night a few weeks ago she'll hardly make eye contact with me, let alone talk to me.

I took my coffee and thanked her. She simply moved on along to Matt and started small talk with him about the new material. Why won't she talk to me? I've calmed down haven't i? Last time I checked I haven't been in the news cycle for weeks. And I made sure that I partied by myself in a dark room. With no prying eyes. That's what they all wanted wasn't it?

I took a sip of my coffee, placing it down next to me. She was on her way out when she called my name. God the way she said my name was so good. She was so good.

"Mr. Turner can I see you in my office please?"

Well that was a surprise. What could of I of done? I picked up my coffee and followed her out the door. We walked in silence down the hall to her office.

She dumped her bag down on her desk. Pulling off Jacket and hanging it on the coat rack. Taking a seat she gestured her hand for me to sit.

" what do I owe the pleasure Olivia?"

"You're funny, I need you to be at this launch part tomorrow night. I need you to have a nice girl on your arm. I have a selection for you to choose from."

She pulled out a leather binder from her desk draw, placing it in front of me.

"You're going to smile, look like you've settled down and getting your life back on track."

"What?"

Her eyes met mine. Those beautiful eyes of hers. I swear I could loose myself in them. They say that you can find the universe in someone's eyes if you look hard enough. She wore a tired expression on her face. She had bags under her eyes. Clearly she had tried to cover them with make up. Which worked from a distance worked but up close you could see she was tired.

She too was here late every night since she's been here. Just like me. But she would never venture to me like she did that first night. This girl was so close but yet so distant.

"I think you heard me. I know you don't like this idea but there are important people at this party. I need you on your best behaviour. You laugh at their jokes, you shake their hands. Do I make myself clear?"

"I'm not doing it. I don't care, this is not me. I won't do it."

"Alex, I need you to trust me on this. Look your label are bringing out the big guns. They want to drop you."

" but we're writing new stuff. I'm writing better stuff."

"They don't know that. All they see is that you past two albums had nothing on the first two. Now I can either save your current contract with this label or find you a new bigger and better one. But to do this, I need you to do as I say. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes."

"Good. Now run along and go and produce some more of that gold of yours. Some of us have work to do."

I got up and was about to leave. But I wanted to stay in her presence. I wanted to hear her voice for that bit longer. I didn't want this to end just yet. Whatever this was.

I turned around to face her. She was looking at her computer screen. Her brow furrowed due to concentration. Her eyes slightly squinting.

Come on alex. Think of something to say. Get her attention back. Muse one of those long words that you love to learn. Come on!

"Why do you hate me so much?"

She looked taken back by my question. Her eyes never leaving her computer monitor. What the hell was that? Why did I say that?

"What gives you that assumption?"

Shit. I walked back over and slumped into the chair I front of her again. She looked at me. Only momentarily but she still looked.

"I dunno, ever since that night you've hardly looked at me. What did I do? You just left. You ran like a dear in headlights. I thought we were going to be friends."

" I've been busy. Busy saving your career to worry about your playground problems. And you should also know that I don't do friends. But thanks for the offer. Now close the door on your way out."

// feedback is most welcome! I want to know what your thoughts are on this Olivia girl. Also is there anything you want me to try to work into the story? Hope you're enjoying so far. This is literally so fun to write. \\
