Liliana's PoV
I was looking at two types of frozen food from the freezer in a supermarket when my sister, who I asked to fetch a bottle of cordial drink, ran towards me at full speed.
"What are you doing?! You're a grown woman!" Janet takes a deep breath before telling me that she saw our father walking hand in hand with a young woman. At first, I brushed it off and continued shopping, but then I realized this was my father we were talking about.
I dropped whatever I held and left my trolley at the side before following my sister toward the entrance.
"Look! There! That's daddy! And I'm sure our mother is not a red hair woman!" Oh, daddy- not again! What is wrong with him? And who is this woman? She seems a lot younger than I am!
"Janet, take some pictures. We should confront him privately later." Janet nodded, and after she took a couple of pictures with her phone, we went back to the supermarket and continued with our shopping. We were not in the mood to continue with our shopping, but it's what we had to do.
"I can't believe daddy still hasn't changed himself after what happened! Didn't he learn anything from when mommy tried to end her life when she found out that daddy had an affair with that lady who always came to the hardware store?! God!" I calm my sister down as we look for instant noddles.
"It's hard to get rid of old habits. We should hide this from mommy. She just improved, and I think I will talk to daddy alone. You're too emotional." Janet sighed before grabbing a ton of ice cream pints from the freezer.
"You'll give yourself diabetes if you continue to live like that." Janet sighed and said,
"Let me live a little, would you? I'm disappointed, and only ice cream can cure me." But-
"I thought you were watching your weight since you have to go to a gala with Tiffany. You said you want to have a nice figure and seduce rich men." Janet sighed before placing the ice back and only leaving one in the trolley.
"Wait, when did you go on a first-name basis with my boss? Did something happen between the two of you?" I shrugged my shoulder before continuing to walk through the aisle. Janet hummed.
"And you're buying the ingredients to make lasagna. Did you promise my boss that you're going to cook for her? Because you would only cook lasagna if you like someone. You wouldn't cook one for me when I was sick!" I chuckled before waving it off.
"This is different. It's her birthday, and I want to give her something different than she used to. And don't be bitter; I didn't cook lasagna for you when you're sick because sick people don't eat pasta." Janet scoffed.
"Says who?!"
"Says the doctor." Janet sighed.
"I can't argue with that. Anyway, I still can't stop thinking about what we just saw. Will daddy ever stop thinking about himself and start caring about our feelings? I mean, mommy doesn't-" I raised my hand to stop my sister from saying anything further.
"As I said, I will talk to daddy alone. You will only complicate things." oh wait, I feel I forget something important!
"I need tomatoes; then we're done." Janet gasped.
"You're making the sauce from scratch?! Are you like in love with my boss?" I shove my sister's face before pushing the trolley to where the tomatoes are.
"Hey, it's not a crime to find someone that makes you happy, but why Tiffany? She's not exactly someone that expressed herself easily, yah know." Well, I don't know. I feel comfortable with her, and I want to do something to thank her for everything she's done for the clinic. I-
