Liliana's PoV
I look so ugly right now. Blaire seems to be on her phone while we wait for the doctor to come. This is a waste of time. I could easily check on my own wound instead of waiting for someone to do it, though.
"My sister is on her way. The police have arrested George for assault and attempted rape."
Really? And in a few days, he would be free after his family bailed him out. That's always the case, even if he's in deep shit of trouble. That man will always find a way to escape punishment. But at least Tiffany taught him a lesson. Maybe I should learn how to defend myself. I'm tired of being a damsel in distress.
"Hey, Blaire, do you know anyone who could teach me how to defend myself?"
Blaire hummed.
"I can teach you. I have a black belt. You can also buy a taser that could fit in your purse or a shape like a ring."
Wait, there's a taser that looks like a ring?
"I'm sorry. I had an emergency in the ER. Please forgive me for the bloody coat."
That doctor was surprised to see me. Wait- this woman seems familiar to me.
"What happened to you?!"
I don't know how to respond to that.
"It's me! Marie- We went to the same med school. I'm the girl that wears glasses. I got Lasik a few years ago."
Marie? Oh, wait! Marie!
"Marie, who always gets first place!"
I chuckled, but because I think my nose is broken, it hurts when I laugh.
"Ow-"
Marie grabbed my shoulder as she looked at my state.
"We're you in a fight?"
Marie started treating me as we kept small talk.
"I can't believe George would do such a thing. But I always thought of him as a waking red flag, even when we were in middle school together. That man- he's a womanizer."
I cringed even when Marie touched my broken nose.
"It'll take some time for your nose to heal. But I'll give you some medicine for the pain and the discomfort you'll face."
I nodded. Blaire got up from her seat and smiled at the doctor. It seems she finally hangs up on the phone call she received earlier.
"How's my sister-in-law?"
Marie explained to Blaire about my condition.
"I see. Could you give us a copy of the report? I need them for the lawyers. I figured that his family would bail him out. But that doesn't mean we can't sue him. I'll make sure to make his family go bankrupt."
Somehow, I think Blaire is even scarier than Tiffany.
"Of course, Lady Astoria."
Blaire excused herself before walking out of the room.
"I heard that Tiffany Astoria was engaged from my colleagues, but I didn't know she was engaged to an old friend. Before I went here, the director of this hospital told me not to make any mistake as I treated you. I was pretty nervous because I thought anyone who married into the Astoria was someone snobbish."
I chuckled, but I failed to remember that I had a broken nose.
"Also, there's a whole crowd of reporters outside the hospital. You should wait for security to come."
