Tiffany's PoV
I hope I wasn't being too bold to Liliana. She was speechless when I told her my true intention, and honestly, I was afraid that she would think of me as a weird person. Luckily she didn't need to yell at me for making advances. I thought it was alright for me to do so since we were both a little tipsy that night.
"How many friends did you invite?" My sister asked as she waved her hands in front of me.
"Hello! Earth to Tiffany! I know you're excited to show your friends the yacht you bought, but that doesn't mean you should ignore me, your beloved sister." Blaire added while throwing some cucumbers from her salad at me.
"Enough! Don't play with your food. Honestly, you're a mother!" Blaire smiled even I finally replied to her.
"Oh! I thought you were going to ignore me." I waved my sister off before starting to eat my breakfast.
"I invited a few people that are close to me. That includes you, but you said you have something else to do. What is so important than your sister?" Blaire chuckled.
"Well, I promised the children at the hospital I would bring them new toys and some chicken when I last visited. But don't worry; I will surely meet your crush sooner or later." Blaire looks at the time before excusing herself. I watched as my sister left the table before smiling at my mother, who finally showed herself.
"Where's dad?" My mother smiled back.
"He went out first thing in the morning. He said that he needed to visit a friend at the hospital. The friend just suffered a mild heart attack." I see." I drank my cup of coffee while reaching for the morning paper. Is that what my father said? I wonder if my mother knows my father is seeing someone behind her back.
"Of course, he's probably somewhere with that younger woman. How dumb does your father think I am? I wouldn't say anything if he said he would see his new mistress. Let's hope your father is not stupid enough to copulate with that woman without protection. Because that woman turns out to be pregnant, you should get me a lawyer." I don't think my father is that stupid.
Besides, if my parents decided to divorce, my father wouldn't get anything in return. He would have to return to his old life- and knowing my father, he wouldn't let that happen. For a man that chooses to have his wife's last name, he must have been desperate to have a better life. Luckily he has the knowledge to create business opportunities with the money my mother gave him.
"Anyway- Tiffany, I heard that you are seeing someone. Is the person a man or a woman?" Where did my mother get her information?
"A woman." Hold on- did my mother's eyes light up, or was it just a trick of the eyes?
"A woman, eh? Good for you. Who knows, she might be the one, right?" I hummed while I read the papers.
"Aren't you going to lecture me about choosing a woman this time? You were so angry when I mentioned my former boyfriend." My mother sighed.
"Your former boyfriend is a well-known playboy. And my thoughts were right when he took some of your belongings before going under the radar, right? You can't lie to me, Tiffany. I am your mother, and I know everything." Sometimes I want to know what sort of connection this woman has to be able to know everything about everyone.
"Are you going to introduce your new lover to your friends today?" I nodded without looking up at my mother.
"When are you going to introduce her to your mother?" I knew it! She's jealous that I didn't include her.
"If you wish to come with me for the joy rides around the coast, say so, mom. There's no need to hide around the bush." My mother pretended to be offended by my words.
