"Your eyes stole all my words away."

While I stood there waiting for Hunter, my mind raced with endless thoughts of what tonight could entail and what the 'announcement' could be about, making my heart beat faster and my hands to get sweaty.
Just as I was about to take a step back, someone caught my arm and I immediately looked up and into the eyes of my brother who was looking at me with a small smile.
"Hey baby girl. You look beautiful, absolutely ethereal." He said and kissed my forehead with a sad smile.
"Hunter?" I called out softly when he looked at me with a concerned expression.
"Everything's going be okay, right?" I asked, nervousness in my tone and he noticed it as well before he nodded and forced a weak smile.
"It will. I'll make sure of it." He said and held his arm out to me which I took without hesitation.
"Open." He said coldly, changing into the cold CEO he was to people other than his family, his jaw clenching shut and his cold mask on his face that made even me scared for some reason.
The guards opened the doors for us and immediately, silence fell upon the whole ballroom as we took a step forward and stood at the edge of the staircase, my grip on his arm tightening considerably.
"Emerald." He spoke softly and I looked at him briefly but he was looking forward.
"Keep your head up, and don't show them your fear. Show them the brave person you are baby girl." He said and I nodded, squaring my shoulders and standing straighter, chin up and took a deep breath.
"I'm ready." I whispered and we both took a step towards the stairs slowly, then on the first stair, then the second, and so on.
My hand held onto Hunter's arm, the other slowly gliding on the railing of the stairs as we made our way down.
I could see the people whispering, looking at me and gasping, stealing glances and staring without shame. The women were dressed in their finest, shiny jewelry on their necks and the men in their best suits.
I looked around at the grand hall that was decorated in emerald green and gold, matching my dress.
My eyes found my family's, Vanessa's who gave me a thumbs up and Noah's who gave me a big smile and mouthed 'hot' which made me smile a bit.
And then they fell on him.
Eros.
He stood at the end of the staircase, looking handsome as ever in his black tux, his jet black hair slicked back and his shoes shined to perfection with his eyes on me.
Only me.
But what surprised me was the emerald green tie and pocket square that rested in his blazer pocket and then when my eyes met his, I felt my breath hitch at how intense they were.
The blue was more visible than the green, shining brightly as they never left my face, not even once.
Once we finally stopped at the end and right in front of him did I snap out of my trance as his hand took a hold of mine. It was so warm, and big compared to my small one and yet our hands fit perfectly.
Like they were made for each other.
Just as he pulled me towards him, I felt my heartbeat accelerate but then Hunter took a hold of my arm, stopping me mid way before I could move towards Eros.
