"Just as her eyes had once done, her voice pierced him.

Penetrating his mind, breaking him down"

"Don, the Reynolds wanted to see you." One of my men informed me.

"Tell them I'm busy right now. I'll contact them myself." I said and saw him bow his head in respect before leaving me alone.

Sighing, I pushed the papers away from me and took off my glasses, setting them on the table before leaning back on my chair.

Running a hand through my hair, I felt my thoughts drifting back to two weeks ago, making me release a frustrated breath.

When I finally decided to play the violin after such a long time, she saw me.

And she said it was beautiful.

No one has ever said that to me before.

But like the asshole and coward I was, I simply walked away from her and now, I haven't seen my baby in two fucking weeks.

I've been trying to stay as far away as I can from her because I can't answer the questions she might have for me. I know I'll never be able to answer them so I did what I do best.

Become an asshole.

I've been more than stressed lately. I've been loosing my temper quicker, ended up killing more people than I can count during these two weeks and now I'm running out of people to torture.

I've snapped at my family and Arturo one too many times and nearly shot Art. He knows something's wrong but hasn't said anything yet.

Although he's been dropping hints and asking me how Emerald is and how's everything going at home.

Fucker knows me well.

I usually answer with an okay or fine but now I'm getting more and more annoyed of these questions which is why I nearly shot him and told him to get the fuck away from my sight.

My train of thought is broken by my phone ringing, but I turn it off without looking. It only starts ringing again and I turn it off again, only for the ringing to start again.

Annoyed, I glance at the screen and see Emerald's number. With a frown and slightly hesitant decision, I slide to answer the call and hear my angel's voice to soothe me, but when the other side speaks, it's not her.

"Mr. Ricci? Mr. Ricci, are you there?" A girl's voice speaks in a hurry and I glance at the screen again to confirm that Emerald's calling.

"Yes, who is this? Where's Emerald?" I ask, my heart rate suddenly accelerating for some reason.
