"It's in the eyes. Always in the eyes."

* * *

When I woke up, it was to fingers running in my hair soothingly. Smiling a bit, I hugged my cushion closer to my body and heard what sounded like a grunt.

Do cushions grunt?

Probably not.

My eyes flew open and I met intense blue ones that stared back at me, capturing me in their hold as we both refused to look away.

Suddenly, I realised I was in bed, next to Eros and gasped, putting some distance between us but was quickly pulled back into his chest.

"Stay. Just for a bit more." He said in his sleepy voice as he turned to face me, burying his face in my neck and planting a kiss there, he sighed.

"D-did you sleep here?" I asked after a few moments and at first there was silence before he spoke.

"Yes." He answered before sighing deeply and tightening his hold around me.

"I haven't slept this well in years." He mumbled, making my face heat up as I carefully brought my hand to his hair, running my fingers through his soft strands.

I heard him sigh in contentment before there was a brief knock on the door and two maids entered carefully holding an empty basket in their hands.

On seeing me and Eros tangled together in bed, a shirtless Eros, might I add, they both gasped, drawing my attention to them.

My eyes widened looking at them while they stared at the man behind me in a mix of awe and fear. I pulled the blanket closer over us, covering some of Eros' muscular back when he grumbled something incoherent.

I figured he was asleep and continued to rake my fingers through his hair while the maids kept their curious eyes on us as they went towards my closet and bathroom, coming out a moment later with the laundry.

I smiled at them briefly as they left, but not before whispering to each other and awkwardly smiling back as they left my room.

After nearly half an hour, I figured Eros was asleep because of his shallow breaths and light snores. I carefully pulled myself out of his grip, replacing myself with a pillow. I looked at his calm and peaceful features as he slept.

He looked so beautiful, so much at peace as if there were no problems in his life. They were more soft now, more relaxed as I padded barefoot to the bathroom, freshening up and heading towards the room with the piano.

I started playing the same lullaby like yesterday and played it non stop for nearly half an hour, not noticing where the time went as my eyes drifted towards the violin on the table.

It was in a different position from yesterday and I wondered whose it was. I loved hearing the violin. It was so peaceful and mesmerizing, but I didn't know how to play it, sadly.

Lifting myself from the piano, I decided to work on my paintings to get some more work done before the exhibition. When I entered the art room, a smile instantly lit up my face as I gathered my paints and the needed materials.

Setting everything up, I stared at the blank canvas before deciding to make something that intrigued me and like the last few days, I found myself mixing different shades of blue to get the perfect one, then the perfect tan shade, jet black and rosy pink.

I was nearly two hours in when the door to the room was opened and someone came in. When I looked up, my brush stopped in mid air as I watched the man scan the room before his eyes settled on me, and he drew closer.
