"My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue, all's well that ends well to end up with you"

The first thing I noticed when I gained consciousness was the steady beeping of machines in the background and deep, muffled voices talked in hushed tone.
A vague pain shot through my head as I tried to open my eyes, immediately squinting when the light hit me.
I tried moving my fingers with much difficulty and it was as if I had barely any energy in me as I licked my lips and looked around after blinking a few times, noting that I was in a hospital room when my eyes fell on the bouquet of roses on my bedside table.
As I slid my gaze over the room, I felt my heart beat faster in my chest when my eyes fell on the figure talking to the doctor in a low tone, a frown set on his handsome face and his arms folded stubbornly on his chest.
As my heartbeat increased, so did the beeping of the machines and both of them hurriedly looked towards me, Eros' eyes widening in the slightest when he saw me.
"Eros." My voice cracked when I spoke, my throat dry as they both rushed over and Eros took my hand.
"Darling, you gave me a heart attack." He said as he kissed my hands when the doctor handed him a cup of water with a straw, helping me drink it.
"I'm sorry." I murmured and saw his small frown.
"Why are you sorry?"
"I made you so worried when you already have so much to deal with." I said, chewing on my lip when he sighed and shook his head as the doctor checked my vitals.
"How are you feeling now, Mrs. Ricci?" The doctor asked.
"Tired," I said before my eyes widened in realisation as my hand shot to my stomach, "Is the baby—"
"The baby's fine, don't worry," The doctor reassured me when I breathed a sigh of relief, "And you'll feel tired for a while but eating something will help."
He spoke a little more to Eros before leaving us two alone.
"Don't be sorry for anything, my love," Eros whispered after a few quiet moments, "I choose you over everything else, get that in your pretty little head. Nothing means more to me than you because you will always be my first and only priority, understood?"
"Okay," I whispered when he squeezed my hand gently and smiled a little at me, "Can you lie here with me?"
Within moments, he was lying down in the bed next to me, our bodies tangled together and my head buried in the crook of his neck as I sighed in content.
"I missed you." He murmured as he nuzzled his nose with mine, making me smile hen he kissed the top of my head.
"I missed you more." I told him, placing a chaste kiss on his jaw as his hand trailed up and down my back, rubbing softly while the other held me firmly to him.
