"No!" I shrieked as Armen threw another splash of water towards me and I reared back in shock and surprise because he sure tossed a whole wave.

He grinned and chuckled, his wet curls falling over his eyes as his tongue swiped out to lick his lips, his ear piercing catching the fading light and shimmering and his torso bare and filled with water.

He carelessly pushed his curls away but some of them fell back stubbornly and he stopped trying altogether.

I pushed my wet hair back and wiggled my toes in the water, trying to appear nonchalant and unaffected before grabbing the little sand bucket and filling it with water, catching him by surprise when I dumped the water all over him.

"Oh, you're going to get it now." He threatened in a mildly amused tone as his eyes narrowed and I squealed when he started to chase me.

I ran along the shore, the water splashing under our feet before he caught up to me because he was obviously faster and picked me up, spinning me around as I laughed before wriggling in his arms as he put me down carefully, making me stumble a bit because of the dizziness.

He caught my arm, keeping me from stumbling as I grinned up at his towering frame before straightening myself up and suddenly missing Eros' touch as I moved back from him.

Armen and I had become good friends over the course of the last few weeks. We spent nearly all day together, joking around or exploring different cafes and little places in our free time.

Today, we had come to the beach because I wanted to go someplace peaceful.

After playing around in the water some more, we went back and sat on the little spread and dried ourselves off before falling into a comfortable silence as we watched the waves.

As I stared at the waves in front of us, I sighed heavily and pulled my legs to my chest, wrapping my arms around them because I was reminded of my honeymoon as a small and sad smile made its way to my face.

"What's got you smiling like that?" Armen flicked my nose and I glared at him when he smirked before taking out the snacks.

"I was just thinking of the last time I went to a beach." I answered, playing with the wedding ring on my hand that I had switched to another finger so it seemed like a normal ring.

"And when was that?"

"A few months ago." I said and saw him nod as he ate a sandwich and I took some French fries.

"With your friends?" He asked as he looked for a napkin when I shook my head and cleared my throat, crossing my legs.

"My um—" I stammered, my fingers tapping nervously on my thigh when he caught onto the movement and frowned subtly.
