(The Competitive Team Meets Griffin)
After the Sulphur Springs Competitive Team performed their group dance, they returned to the dressing room. Harper was still in the nurse's, feeling pain. The team cared deeply for Harper and were always distressed when she hurt, but nothing pained them more than seeing her cry. Knowing that their beloved friend was upset was enough to make them weep as well. The team is very protective of Harper, and are ready to stand up for her should anyone threaten her wellbeing. Thus, when they found out about Harper's lover, they knew meeting him was necessary. They could not bear leaving Harper in the hands of any fool.
" I'm gonna go get a snack, you guys," Matt said standing up from the circle the team was sitting in
"You just ate" Saylor said
"I know," Matt said opening the dressing room door
"No, Matt, where are you really going?" River said stopping Matt from leaving
"Fine"
"I'm gonna go meet Griffin," Matt said walking back over to the team
"Her boyfriend?" Coach Lotus asked
"Yeah" Matt answered
"Oh, then we're all going" Heritage said standing up, the team followed
"Okay, let's go," Matt said as he and the teamed walked to the door
"Wait," Coach Lotus said
" Do you think Harper wants you guys to meet him just yet?" Coach Lotus said
Listen, I'm not just gonna leave Harper in the hands of some guy for the rest of her life. Harper's family" Matt said
"-and family looks out for each other" Heritage explained
Coach Lotus smiled
" You guys really care about her" Coach Lotus said
" I mean yeah, Harper's our sister," Matt said with a smile
" Ok, go get him," Coach Lotus said
"Thanks, Coach," The team said as they left

"Where is he?" Heritage groaned
The team has been walking around looking for Griffin for a long time. It's like they saw him and he was gone in a blink.
"How are we spouses to know," River said
"C'mom he might be this way," Matt said gesturing to the team
"Matt," Kami, Matt's mom said, stopping the team in its tracks
"What are you doing?"
"Awards are gonna start soon," Kami remained
"I know, but we're on a mission," Matt said to his mom
"A mission?" Kami asked
"Yeah, Mrs. Caba, it's for Harper," Saylor said
"Operation meet Harper's boyfriend, so she DOSENT end up in the hands of a dummy," Matt said
"We're still working on the name" Heritage pointed out
"Aww, you guys always had such a big heart for Harper," she said.
"Yeah, she's still in the nurse"
"Mrs. Dunn assured me that she would be alright, but she seemed more concerned than I," Matt frowned, looking down.
"She'll be alright, Matt, I promise," Kami said, extending her pale hand and intertwining her pinkie with his caramel-colored one.
"Thanks, Mom" Matt smiled
"You're welcome, babe," Kami said, removing her hand.
"Bye, girls," Kami said as she walked away
"Bye, Mrs. Caba," The team said
Just then Matt screamed
"WHAT?" Heritage said in a panic
" ITS GRIFFIN" Matt said
The team saw Griffin in the lobby, he was with his family. He was looking kind of anxious
"Are you sure?" River said
"No, it's god," Matt said sarcastically
River rolled her eyes
"C'mom yall" Matt said
Matt and the team wasted no time in walking over to Griffin
"Hey," Heritage said
"Um... Hey" Griffin said awkwardly
"So, you like Harper," Matt said raising an eyebrow
"Huh"
"You heard me"
"Wait, I don't even know who you guys are?" Griffin said
"Harper's dance team," Saylor said
"Names?" Griffin asked
"Matt, Heritage, River, Saylor, Emmie, Jadyn, Locklyn, Londyn, Liberty, Sydney, Rylann, Parkyr, Hope, and Camry" Matt said rapidly
", But like I said, do you like Harper?"
"Umm... as a friend... yeah," Griffin said
"No, as a girlfriend," Saylor said
"I mean....if she wants to be," Griffin said
"Awwwwwww," The team said
"That's cute, but we're gonna have to ask you a few questions before we just let you have at Harper," Matt said
" I really don't got time for-"
"QUESTION 1" Matt yelled
Griffin sighed
"Will you always make sure to put our Harper's needs before your own"
" I already do," Griffin said
"QUESTION 2, will you ever let Harper be sad for anything, in any way?
"I'm always here to comfort her," Griffin said
The team smiled
"Ok, the last question, will you call Harper "Baby" Heritage asked rolling her shoulders
The team laughed
Griffin looked confused
"Harper, Baby?"
" Aww, you would," Heritage said as the team started to scream
"No, no that's not what I meant" Griffin tried to say over the cheering for joy from the dancers
"Congratulations, you passed," Matt said with a smile
", but I swear if you ever break her heart, I'm gonna beat your-"
"OK" Heritage interrupted
"It was nice meeting you Griffin," Heritage said as she pulled Matt away from him
"Um... Yeah" Griffin said
"Bye GG!"Matt said as he and the team walked away
"Um...Bye?" Griffin said
"Aww, your GG now," Zoey said as she walked over to her brother
Griffin rolled his eyes
"Who were they?" Wyatt butted in
"Harper's Dance team" Topher uttered
"No," Griffin said
"That was her family"
They all smiled
