Chapter 15 - Gods and glory

The walk back to Mondstadt was awkwardly silent and uncomfortable. Your mind kept thinking back on to what you had done.

Just how in the world did you heal multiple cuts and bruises with wind? Let alone how did you get these powers!? 

Lisa had kept reassuring you that it was possibly something similar to the travelers, yet how had you not noticed before? With Lumine, a glowing cyan orb had floated to her through the statue. Not only that but she had mentioned before she felt something weird with her, like how there was some sort of power flowing through her veins. 

You never felt or experienced any of that, so how is it that you obtained these powers?

Questions bubbled in your mind as you mindlessly followed the path back to Mondstadt.

The door to the Acting Grandmaster's office swung open, startling the person signing documents. 

The traveler was exhausted from her commissions. All she wanted to do was to go back to the inn and rest. But when she found the room empty, sheets neatly folded and no signs of drawing papers, she immediately left the place, leaving an extremely tired yet confused Paimon.

Walking around the plaza, searching through the markets, and even the perimeter of the lake, yet you remain hidden from her sight. Once she triple checked the area, she dashed towards the Knights of Favonious Headquarters, burtsting through the doors of Jean's office.

Only to find you sleeping on a couch in the office, Lisa right by your side. Your old dirtied clothes placed on a chair beside the couch, while you had an oversized white button-up shirt.

"I- uhm...... Am I interrupting something?"

Confused would be an understatement. Jean was befuddled by Lumine's choice of words, looking around the room for what she was referring to. 

All until her eyes landed on your sleeping figure, new change of clothes and the librarian now laying your head onto her lap as she stroked your hair. Only then did she realise how wrong this situation looked. 

"I-I, its not what you think traveler! Lisa and Y/N just came back from a job and were covered in filth. So Lisa borrowed her some clothes to change into since she didn't have any at the moment...."

Lumine could only stare at your sleeping figure and the Acting Grandmaster. Eyes flickered from the two of you, to the hand stroking your head. For an unknown reason, she disliked that.

"Its alright. I was just looking for her anyway."

Walking towards the librarian, she sat on the opposite end of the couch.

"Thanks for taking care of her, I was worried she might be bored the entire time." Lumine said.

"No worries traveler, Y/N's a joy to be around. But there is one thing I wish to discuss with you."

Eyes shooting up from your still figure to the purple librarian, glacing to the Acting Grandmaster for a brief moment before returning back to its original place. 

"Are you aware that Y/N could use elemental powers?"

The walk towards Liyue was silent. Not a word was said between the three of you. 

Paimon nervously glanced between the two of you, unsure of what had happened from when the traveler left her at the inn. She was afraid of talking, as she thought she might provoke an arguement with either of you. But what she doesn't know, is that both you and Lumine were praying to whatever god for her to talk, to break the awkward silence.
