The sound of wings flapping was heard as a dragon glided across the water. Scales shimmering under the moon as it suddenly flew up, flying into the clouds as to hide.
Shouting was heard from a nearby island, vikings of all kind alike was present there, either buying items and bargaining, or just to take a stroll in a noisy atmosphere. But nothing of the shouts outside could compare to that of the tavern's.
Vikings chugging down drinks and gobbling up food at a disgusting pace. Talking about subjects of all kinds alike.
The door of the tavern crept open, yet no one payed any mind to it. A hooded figure slowly made their way towards the counter, requesting for their strongest. The bartender rasied a brow at the request, yet chose not to question the choice of drink and began preparing.
"Hey, have you heard of the famed dragon master?" a drunk viking asked his friend, catching the eye of the mysterious figure.
"Dragon master? What dragon master?" his friend questioned. "Are you sure you aren't too drunk?"
"Noo~ I'm being serious here mate~" the viking slurred. "His name's *hiccup* Haddockson or somethin..."
"What's the name? I could only hear his last name mate! C'mon, tell me! Don't keep up the suspense!"
Before the viking could reply, he fell face first on the table, making a loud thump echoing in the tavern. Yet as always, no one payed any attention to them.
The other viking only sighed before getting up and helping his friend out of the tavern. The hooded figure watched the two exit the tavern, before hearing the bartender plop a mug on the countertop.
The figure tossed him a small pouch before digging into their drink. The bartender opened the pouch, looking into its contents. Once satisfied, the bartender left, leaving the hooded figure alone to their drink.
The figure slowly sipped on the mug, carefully eavesdropping conversations left and right, yet none of them were as interesting as the first two. Once finished, the figure had sat up, and left, walking towards the woods.
The sound of metal hiting the ground startled a few small creatures and boars, but no dragons nontheless.
"Haddockson you say?" a feminine voice sounded in a whisper. "I've never heard of that name. Hmm...maybe it's something similar? After all, the viking himself wasn't sure of the name."
A low growl from the bushes had snapped her out of her thoughts. The figure's hand flew to the sword on her waist. Getting into a fighting stance.
A reptilian creature had emerged from the bushes. Scales white as snow covering it from head to tail. Beautiful ocean blue eyes that reflected nothing but danger alone in them, four legs with sharp claws that could easily slash a think tree trunk into two. It's wings were raised high, sharp teeth baring while growling, mouth agap ready to fire a powerful attack. Everything about this creature screamed danger. Yet the figure stood her ground.
She immediately lowered her hand and hood whispering, "calm down, it's alright girl. It's just me."
Hearing the voice of the figure, the dragon lowered its guard, setting down it's wings and retracting it's fire. One minute a fierce dragon, and the next the mixture of a puppy and kitten.
The white dragon immediately nuzzled its snout against the figure's legs, which earned a chuckle from her.
"C'mon girl." the figure stated as she removed her hood. White hair almost similar to the dragon's scales, tied into a beautiful braid. Blue eyes shining in perfect sync with the dragons. Suit and a matching helmet adorned with scales coloured blue, and a belt tied around her waist with her sword attached to it.
"We've got a dragon master to hunt down."
If you can guess the fandom, I love you.
