Promises (Ninjago's Kai x Reader)

Episode 6 - Literally, Endless Fighting

The battle is quite short. Lloyd and Nya have the brilliant idea to use Zane's fucked up frequencies and combine them with the broken generator to create the worlds largest magnet, sucking up all the metal pieces that held the snake warriors together. The individual little snakes flea.

Somehow, the surge of energy caused Zane to be fixed and the power to turn back on. For some reason, there was T.V. in the power source building, and that automatically turned onto the news station where Gayle was reporting the snake warriors attacking Mega Monster Amusement Park. That's where we're headed now.

When we arrive, the place is a mess. The snakes are tearing apart the rides, children and their parents are running around screaming. Honestly, I don't get payed enough for this.

"Mega Monster Amusement Park?" says Cole in exasperation. "Really? Don't these guys have any sense of decency? Where does it end?"

"It ends here and now," Lloyd declares.

"Pixal," says Zane, "give me a danger analysis." His eyebrows furrow. "Pixal? Pixal respond! I need a danger analysis."

"Here's one," I say after a quick onceover of the place. "The roller coaster." The snake dudes are tearing apart the tracks, and there is a cart full of people zooming towards the wreckage.

"Zane, Cole. Get up there fast!" At Lloyd's command, the two of them charge into battle.

"The rest of you, spread out. Time to make this place a snake-free zone. We can do this team!"

"Wow. Listen to Lloyd taking charge," says Kai. He slides his hand into mine, lacing our fingers and keeping me from following the others into battle. "He's starting to get this Master thing down."

"He really is." I look up into Kai's eyes, a constant source of reassurance. "I'm proud of him."

"You should be. You taught him well."

Now I'm rolling my eyes. "I didn't teach him, Uncle Wu did."

"Yeah, but you've always been a great role model. And you help him whenever he gets stuck. With Wu out of the game at the moment, you're the only one who's stood by Lloyd's side. He wouldn't be as great as he is without you."

"You flatter me." I lean against him and sigh. "We need to join the battle."

"Just a moment longer," Kai whispers. He rests his head on top of mine, and for a moment we bask in each others presence, watching chaos unfold within the park.

"I love you."

Kai presses a kiss to my hair. "And I love you. Promise."

Our fingers untwine and we join the fight.

A few moments later, we've barely done any damage to these snakes. It seems like they've multiplied by the dozen since the last time we saw them, which was only about an hour ago. Luckily, most of the citizens have been evacuated from the park. That might be the only good thing that's come of these past ten minutes.

"Ninja, sound off!" Lloyd announces over the intercom. "Is everyone okay?"

"So far, barely!" Nya says. Out of the corner of my eye, I see her join him by the fountain.

"If you mean, 'Okay, there sure are a lot of them!' then, yeah, I'm okay," says Cole. He gets body slammed by a snake warrior and lands at Lloyd and Nya's feet.

I let off a large blast of dark energy, scattering the snakes that surround me, clearing my own path back to the group.

"For the record," says Kai, also joining the little huddle, "this is the least amusing amusement park I've ever been to."
