"Welcome to cloud kingdom. We've been expecting you," says a boy with a wispy voice. He approaches us from atop a marble staircase, his elegant cream cloak trailing behind him.
"H-how are we--"
"Standing on the cloud?" the boy says, finishing Jay's sentence. "Easy. In other Realms, there are other rules. I'm Fenwick. I've been asked to show you around."
"Nice to meet you. I'm--"
"Kai, yes, we all know. You're quite popular with the other monks," says Fenwick, smiling. "Up here, we see everything that goes on in Ninjago."
"Then you know--" Cole starts, but of course, Fenwick cuts him off.
"You've travelled far for the Sword of Sanctuary. A powerful weapon that can foresee your opponents next attack. It's also the second clue to finding the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master."
"Blimey," says Zane. "But how be you--"
"Finishing your sentences? I know, it's rather annoying, but up here--"
"You can see what's going to come next," I say, smirking slightly at Fenwick's startled expression. He recovers quickly and smiles.
"Precisely. Come, I know Morro isn't fare behind. Follow me and I'll explain."
Fenwick proceeds to lead us through the city made entirely of quartz and gold. He leads us to a large building at the top of a cloud-mountain. When he pushes the door open, tables upon tables of working monks are revealed. They all look up upon our intrusion.
"Wow, it's the Ninja!" says one of them.
"I know you're familiar with a few of the Realms," says Fenwick, glancing pointedly at me. He leads us down the aisles of workers and continues talking. "Cloud Kingdom is just one of the Sixteen Realms that exist parallel to Ninjago."
"Sixteen Realms?" says Kai in awe.
"In this realm, we strive for greater understanding and let go of distractions. There is no television, no video games--"
"No videogames!" Jay ejaculates. "Hmmph! Not impressed."
"It appears all any lad does here be writing," says Zane, glancing around at the hardworking monks.
"That is because here our words matter," explains Fenwick. "You see, in Cloud Kingdom, we are the writers of destiny. It was decided that Lloyd should be the Green Ninja, that Tasha would share half his power, and just now, that Zane should find his voice again."
"I sense my vocal pattern has returned without any repairs," Zane says in his normal voice.
"Awe! He doesn't talk like a pirate anymore," Jay whines.
"How'd that happen?" asks Cole.
"It was written."
"Hey, guys, he's writing about Dareth!" says Jay, leaning over one monk's shoulder. he accidently bumps the bottle of ink and it spills all over the parchment.
"Oh, poor Dareth," the Monk exclaims.
"If you know what's gonna happen next, then you know how important it is for us to get the Sword of Sanctuary," says Kai, getting the conversation back on track.
"Yes, and I know how you made a promise to save your friend Lloyd," says Fenwick. "Sadly, we cannot ensure promises, because we aren't allowed to choose sides." He lowers his voice to a whisper: "And no one will tell you this, but we had intended for Morro to stay in the Cursed Realm."
"What do you mean, 'intended,'" says Cole, narrowing his eyes.
"He was never supposed to escape. He somehow defied destiny. And now we're playing catch up. Do you think we wanted you to become a Ghost? That's preposterous. Ever since Morro broke free, things have been happening outside our control. To be honest, we don't know how this will end."
