Spring Showers

Tango wandered solemnly down the winding brick pathway ahead of him. The spring flowers on the trees dropped petals in the cool breeze and he watched as they fluttered past couples and families spending a day out in the local park. The spring season seemed even brighter here since the last time he saw it many years ago. Maybe it was his work that kept him so focused overseas, but now that he was home, Tango couldn't help but realize just how much he enjoyed slowing down to appreciate the little things.

He wandered further down the path, smiling and waving at people he was acquainted with and chatting politely to anyone who happened to stop him for a chat, it was in one of these moments that Tango noticed him. The diamond. Clear as day sitting on a picnic blanket with who he could only assume were his family members Impulse had told him about. They were on the other side of the wide river that split the park in two, and Tango noticed a bridge across a few yards ahead of him on the path that would easily be the quickest route.

"... I hear it's rather lovely over there in the springtime but I've never traveled there. What do you think, your grace?" asked the young redheaded woman before him. She looked up to him quizzically as Tango realized he hadn't been paying much attention.

"It's... lovely. Yes, lovely indeed," He started, unable to peel his eyes away from the blonde across the river. He could see how Grian tried and failed to appear mature as his brother said something that sent Grian and his sister into a fit of laughter. The way he hid his smile behind a fan and playfully pushed his brother over made Tango's heart flutter in his chest before he continued, "If you'll excuse me for a moment, I just remembered I have some urgent business to attend to."

"Of course. If you ever get the chance though, I'd love to interview you!" The redhead called out but it was too late. Tango had already stopped listening and bowed courteously before beginning his trek to the bridge. He couldn't help but glance across the river once more before he crossed and was surprised to find himself staring right into those beautiful blue eyes before crashing into another person sending them both tripping over stones and into the shallow of the water.

"I am so sorry!" Tango exclaimed, scrambling to his feet as the watchful eyes of the civilians turned towards the scene. Tango reached a hand down to the other person to find a man with dirty blonde hair and an official law enforcement badge on his belt. Tango winced as he helped the man up, "I don't know what came over me to not pay attention to where I am going."

The official stood up tall looking only slightly annoyed as he regained his footing, "It was just an accident after all. I wasn't paying too much attention as well. It's me who should be more respectful and aware of my surroundings."

Tango let out a small sigh of relief as the official held out a hand, "I'm officer Jimmy, at your service, and you?"

Tango took the offer and shook his hand, "I am a redstone engineer, Tango Tek. It's a pleasure to meet you."
