Wither

You watch me wither away like a dying flower, you just let me dry out.
I get frail and weak and my petals fall all over the ground.
You don't have enough time, or energy I suppose, to nurse me back to health.
But just a little more of you, I think would have helped.
Like foot prints in the sand you watch the ocean wash me away.
Like seashells in the sand you let me get dragged away.
Like a balloon that slipped from your hand you don't even try to chase.
Like clouds in the sky I tend to drift away.
Til it turns to thunderstorms and lightning strikes again.
Please just water me again, I don't care if I drown.
But you let me wither away, please don't let me down.
The thing forgotten, oh I'm lost but I am never found.
You can't save a flower when they are destined to die, no love can bring something back from the afterlife.
