Four.

It's been a long couple day's since the incident she needed to clear her mind she needed something so she took Grace to the beach with her it was a long shift it was late in the afternoon. The sun was setting it was warm the day went smooth and relaxing that's what they loved about Hawaii it was the most beautiful place on earth.

McKenna's Pov:
I sat on the water as the sun set. I was out here all day just surfing away trying to clear my mind of what happened a few day's ago. It worked yes but I just couldn't shake the sounds of the gun's going off people screaming around me. The pain in the back of my head still hurts it was my first time  ever being in a situation like that. Yeah they probably think I'm a wussy I didn't even pay attention to anything around me I was just lost in thought I was disassociating from everything.

"Hey" someone said I screamed jumping almost falling off my board I looked over to see Steve sitting there "God damn it McGarrett, warn a woman will you! Before you sneak up on them like that" he pointed behind me "I thought you heard me swim up?" He asked I shook my head taking a deep breathing to collect my self "No I'm sorry I wasn't really paying any attention" he laughed a little shaking his head. "How long have you been out here?" He asked I looked down at my hands "Little while now, it kinda of helps me clear my mind being out here on the water" I ran my hands through the water around us he smiled "It definitely does help you clear your mind, I always come out here to surf and clear my mind also" I smiled looking over to him. For some reason every time I'm near Steve I feel so like connected to him I feel comfortable opening up about anything.

"I also love to read to clear my mind from my thoughts it's so peaceful especially with a cover and near a fire with a tad cold in the air. Like a cool summer night" i smiled to my self honestly that wasn't a half bad idea. "You know what that don't sound half bad, I think I'm going to do that" I smiled laying flat on my board "You are more the. Welcome to join me if you like?" I looked up at him he shook his head looking at me "I think I'm gonna surf a bit while the sun's up maybe later have a good night." I nodded my head swimming back to shore Danny was standing there with Grace. "Hey" he said as I walked up to them setting my board in the sand grabbing my towel "what's up?" I asked he shoved his hands looking around then back up at me.

"There are classes for criminal justice coming up here soon, would you be alright with me signing you up?" He asked I dried my body off and slid the swim suit cover up over my head. I looked out in the water and back towards Danny. "Would that mean I get to work with you and Steve?" I asked he nodded his head "Well yeah if that's what you would want?" He asked I nodded my head smiling softly I nodded my head "Then yes, I'd love to work along side my brother" I pulled him into a hug.

  -Hours later-

I curled under the cover with my feet up on the rocks next to the fire not a very heavy cover rested over my legs there was a knock on the wood frame. I looked up to see Steve holding two beer's up. I smiled softly "Hey you came" I smiled going to stand up "No no stay you look comfortable" he walked up to me he handed me a beer i gladly accepted it he sat to the right of me closer to the door.  "So what are you reading?" He asked I looked down at my book. "Well Danny wants me to start criminal justice classes so I decided why not and start while I'm ahead" he nodded his head "Impressive" I rolled my eyes laughed a little shaking my head.

"Danny called me a dork" he rolled his eyes looking back and then leaning over closer to me "Well if you want to know something your brother is a nerd also" I laughed a little shaking my head. "In sports" he laughed with me a tad. It was kinda good to poke fun at my brother with someone but all of it is in a good way nothing would go to far. "Well do you want a study partner?" He asked I sat my book down next to me on the table "No actually I was wondering if we could just hang out your my brother's partner and every thing would that be Alrighty with you??" I asked he smiled softly "Sure go right ahead and shoot" I smiled softly I sat there looking at him for a moment.

"So I know that you were in the navy as a navy seal and stuff. I know you are the leader of the Task Force." He nodded his head I continued to look at him. "You grew up here on Hawaii?" He nodded his head.

Danny's Pov:

"Danno? What are you doing?" Grace asked I fumbled with the blinds "Oh nothing sweetheart just umm cleaning the blinds is all" I smiled cleaning off the blinds she leaned over looking out the back door "or are you spying on Aunt Kenna and Uncle Steve?" She asked me I sighed deeply she definitely caught me in the act. "Okay yes I was spying on them" she crossed her arms over her chest "That's not right Danno you would be mad if they did it to you" I sighed holding my hands up in the air. "Okay okay your right I'll stop, why are you up any ways shouldn't you be in bed?" I asked her she pointed at the clock it was only nine "Oh right bed time is at ten thirty come on let's go do something till then" we walked away not Turing back while they spent time together if this turns out to be something he better not break her she's all I have
