CHAPTER 10: EVELYN'S REASON TO DIE

"It was you. All this time." I spoke softly. She grabbed my arm and spoke "You need to kill me. I must not kill anyone else. The demon inside me is controlling me to hunt, to kill." Valak is back. I should have seen this coming. I replied "I'm sure there's another way. There's always a way." She looked into my eyes then back on the ground.

"You've always tried to make me see the good side, but this time there is no good side of me. That's why I need to die." I replied "Fine, if that's what you want. But I'm not the one that's going to kill you." I grabbed her hand and took her with me to the forest. We arrive in the forest then I looked at Eva in the eyes. "That demon you're talking about is Valak. You've got three but they don't show often. Valak is the killing machine. Before everyone forgot about what happened and me, he almost killed me. I can't just kill you like it's nothing. He will come out take over your body. I need to kill him in order to save you and other people."

"You know the demon I'm talking about!?" Eva said. I replied "Yes, and he hates my guts. I can't kill you alone when he comes out. I have an idea but you might not like it." Eva stood up with confidence and said "If it will work then I'm in." I smiled then said "Hop on!" Eva replied "Hop on where-" I gave the coat I was wearing to her and transformed into the creature.

She touched my nose and them climbed on. I ran off to the city and made sure Eva held tight to my fur. "Where are we going?" she asked. I couldn't respond because I couldn't speak human in my beast form. I head to the police station and she climbed off.

I transformed back as she gave me the coat. I put the coat on and walk inside. "Do you have an electric chair?" The cop answered while looking at me "That would be a bit too dangerous for having fun, ma'am." Eva blushed and I said "What! No. Anyway, I need to talk to Chief, sir. The cop replied "One moment please."

The cop with the hat covering the horns came and asked "Back so soon? We didn't even call you. And you came with your girlfriend?" I answered "We need to talk. Now." He let us in a room and Iris was already there. "Iris? What are you doing here?" Iris responded "Well, I'm guessing you're the one that gave information about me reading minds." I replied "Yeah, I had to tell the truth. That guy that touching your arm is a human lie detector."

Iris replied "Already knew that. I only lied once. And both the chief and the lie detector are marrie-" The chief asked, interrupting our conversation "You wanted to tell us something?" I sat down and let the second man touch my arm. "Well, I just found out something that might let you know what has been killing people in the streets. There is this demon that possesses Eva's body in order to kill. He won't stop until he's satisfied. It won't work if we kill Eva. We have to kill Valak himself." The man touching me was in shock. That gave the chief evidence that I was telling the truth.

He looked at Eva, then back at me. "So, what must I do?" I replied "Do you have an electric chair anywhere?" He replied "You must be joking. Why in hell would we have an electric chair in the station?" I responded "Well, do you know someone who does own an electric chair?" He sighed and said "Yes, I do know a guy. Well, woman."

We arrive at a mental hospital building. The chief got out of the car and we climbed out afterwards. It felt a bit cold and I started rubbing my arms through the coat. Fur started covering my skin. "That does come in handy. Nice." I followed the chief towards the gate.

"So, chief, I never got your name. You might become a hero in my book." The chief replied as he waited for the guard to open the gate "The name's Frank." I replied "Thank you sir." We walk in and the guard opens for us. "Frankie, it's been a while since you came here. Busy with another case again?" said the guard. Frank replied "Well, I need to discuss something with your boss. I need to borrow an electric chair. Could you give us a favor and tell us where she is?"

The guard replied "You know it isn't easy to get her to borrow thing out of the area. Is it urgent?" Eva chirped in and said "It's for me. And we might need to borrow a secure room as well." The guard let us through and said "Goodluck with that. She ain't an easy woman to convince." Frank replied as we walked in "Thank you Conner." He led us inside the building and through passage ways. There were people standing in front of walls, talking to themselves, wishing to leave.

We enter an office, Conner going in first. "Ms. James. We have visitors. Frank is back." Conner said. "Frank, what a surprise. I wasn't expecting you to come today, and with two other ladies. Are they working with you? Or is it the other way around?" Ms. James said as she walked out of the dark part of the room. I spotted her red eyes and blonde hair. She had a tail with an arrow head at the end. Her pale skin seemed to have matched her smirk.
