CHAPTER 13: GLOWING FIGURES

"What info?" I asked. Frank replied "I received a call that there were only five bodies that were killed by some sort of giant owl. We found 23 bodies. There's another murderer out there." I spoke "Wait, weren't there 22 bodies found? So, this killer is a bigger threat than Valak." Frank replied "Oh, a way bigger threat. Hear this out. The dead bodies had no possible injuries. It was like the life got sucked out of them." I thought and said "I guess I've got a lot to do on my plate, don't I?" Ms. James replied "Alright. Your mission can wait. Go track that killer."

Ms. James gave me a card and said "Just in case no one believes you." I reply "Thanks." Conner leads us out the building and Frank starts the car. "Aren't you gonna climb in?" he asked. "Nah, I can run to the station." I answered. He replied "Okay. Meet you there."

I transformed into the beast and started running to the station. I climbed from one building to the other and raced the police car all the way to the station. I transform back and wait for Frank to get out of the car. We walked past a room where there were police on desks, getting calls constantly. "It's busy in here. What's going on?" I ask. Frank replied "Well, it's always busy here. There are more people like us, except they become the threats on purpose. It's very important to try fix this mess that no one knows how it started. You're the only one that does know. We tried searching SA labs. They don't have anything we're looking for."

I respond "That is weird. It's like she doesn't want us to fix it." Frank raised his eyebrow and said "She? Who are you talking about?" I answer "The goddess. I never really got a name. She was behind all of this. I'm still trying to find out why. The only feeling I got from her is that she likes meddling with things. Even with these abilities, I don't think I can defeat her. Though something familiar I felt about her. I'm not sure what." Frank opened the door to a room and replied "You met a goddess but still can't describe how she looks. It's like she doesn't want to be discovered." I walk in the room and respond "That's exactly what I think."

"Welcome Nicolas. It's an honor meeting you. Wow, you look almost like a goddess. Just turquoise and wearing a suit. Oh, nice tail by the way." I greeted back "It's nice meeting you too, uh..." The man replied while shaking my hand "Maximus. Alex Maximus." I reply "It's nice to meet you too, Alex." He walks to a metal table with a body on top. "Here is one of the victims. I didn't really want to check the insides so I didn't bother cutting through the skin."

I respond "You weren't exaggerating, Frank. It does look like that person had their life sucked out of them." Alex continued "Here's the interesting part. All of the muscle underneath the skin is gone, and you can see the bone. I took an X-ray and this is my proof that all the muscle is gone." Alex showed X-ray photographs and I could see what he meant. "That doesn't look natural" I said, noticing that the body looked like a skeleton covered in skin. Frank added "Doesn't look pretty either." Alex replied "I did get a photograph from one of the witnesses."

He took out a picture from an envelope and handed it over to me. "The witness didn't get a good picture but it was a glowing figure. She described the figure as a glowing winged figure." said Alex. Frank spoke "Sounds like an angel gone killer mode." I replied "We've got so many problems. Let me guess, I must go find this soul sucker before he wipes out the human population." Alex nodded and I left. Where am I going, you asked?

I need to look for some help. Where am I going to find the right people? I have no idea. My best option is to find people I know that can aid me. I know a few people. Eva, Iris, Jake, Leo, Ms. James, Tom and that guy who could tell if you're lying.

Though I'm not sure what Frank can do. He just has horns but I'm not sure if he has any special ability. I'm not sure how Clare is still alive. Eish, there's a lot I need to do and figure out. Where to first?
