CHAPTER 11: MS. JAMES

"Would you be kind to let me rent a room with an electric chair in?" Frank said, taking his hat off. Ms. James grinned and said "Since when are you into torture, Officer Frank?" He replied "It's not for me, it's for the one with the green hair." She walked around the table to go close to Eva. Her lower body revealed how long her tail actually was and she wasn't wearing any shoes. She couldn't because she had two huge toes that couldn't fit into any shoe.

Eva growled as Ms. James touched her face. "I'm so interested in seeing you sitting in an electric chair, you poor little sinner." Eva asked in shock "How did you know!?" The slender lady let out a slight giggle then answered "I can see a person's true form. I can see the real them. Eva, you look like you don't know yourself. Oh, and you, my little beast, haven't hurt an innocent soul. You're quite the interesting one, Nicolas. Let me guess, you need the electric chair to let Eva's demon out, is that correct?" I replied "Yes." She crossed her arms with one hand touching her own chin. She thought for a moment and then spoke "And what are you planning to do after that?" Eva answered "To go to prison for what I've done. I need to take responsibility for my actions, even though I couldn't control it." Ms. James gave a warm smile and spoke "Very well. Just to let you know that it won't be a quick thing. We need figure out how to let the beast out without killing you, and how to destroy it. And I also have other things to do. Conner, would you please close the door after you?" Conner left, closing the door and Ms. James walked back to her desk, pushing a button underneath.

Her bookshelf opened an elevator, leading under the building. "Ladies first." she smirked. As we all went in, except Frank, Ms. James explained "As the public knows, I help those that have their 'mental break'. But underground, I help those with their special abilities. How to hide it. How to use it. You get the idea. But if it their powers can't be controlled, then my workers pin them down in a cell." We walk out of the elevator and see a whole hallway of technology being tested. "This is the test room. My workers have brilliant ideas and they create, this is the room they test their special gadgets. Some of my customers volunteer to test some of the gadgets, for example, that suit that can stretch from a normal human body to the size of an elephant. When you wear the suit, you can hardly feel it stretch when you transform. Perfect for you Nicolas." I was in shock and replied "How did you know I had that problem?"

Ms. James smirked and said "Well, the suit was created a week ago so I wasn't expecting you to be the first test monkey for it. When I saw the news, I thought it was perfect for you. We'll give it a try sooner or later." I replied "You're very talkative. You must be proud of your people's work." She smiles and said "Of course I am. I am the mother of this company and I treat my people like my children." She stopped in thought, then spoke again "5 years ago, I woke up one morning, looking like this. To this day, I still look for answers why all this happened." I reply "I have answers for you. Though you might not believe me." She smiled and said "Try me later."

We exit the room and we see a passage way with doors leading to rooms. No, not rooms, cells... "I'm not the type of person to sugar coat my words, but these are cells." I said, concerned. Ms. James replied "They are. I might be a bit crazy but I'm not sick in the head. I only put people in those cells if they can't control their powers. They still get treated like normal human beings." Eva kept quite the whole way and we arrived at a room for her. The room looked like a cell but when Ms. James opened the room, I could see the bed was normal and the toilet was hiding behind a wall.

Eva sat on the bed and Ms. James closed the door. Eva smiled and I knew why. She was happy that there's someone willing to help her get rid of Valak. "Eva, will you be alright in there?" Eva replied "Yeah, I'm glad that I won't be able to hurt anyone ever again." I smiled then we left her alone.

"Would you like a tour around before we get started?" said Ms. James. I nodded and she showed me everywhere. When I saw the cells, I thought she was shady, but having all the workers treat her well, and her doing the same, I realized she wasn't afraid of showing herself to others. When she would brag about something amazing that a worker did, I saw stars in her eyes. She asked excitedly "Would you like to try on the suit?" I replied "Sure."

I took the suit, went in the changing room and got dressed. I come out of the changing room and asked "How do I look?"
