Carina's POV
Returning home after so many exciting months with Palaye and our friends was refreshing and comforting, but it also made me miss the happy memories we made, up to when Remington proposed to me onstage at their last show of the festival season. The warm welcome all of us had received when we came back home was something I'll never forget and it made me grateful as ever that I chose to live here when I started college. Not too long after we settled back into our home, me, Remington, and the rest of Palaye started receiving fan letters from all over the world. Most of them congratulated me and Rem for finally being engaged and being the most beautiful couple they've seen come out of the rock n' roll scene. While I was flattered out of my mind, I was honestly not expecting so much positivity from the fans, but I was more than grateful to see them finally accept me as a part of Palaye Royale's lives, even if I'm not a member. I've never been in a more loving and accepting family like the one I'm about to be a part of officially.

First thing I bought when I received my first large sum of money from my songs was, to Remington's surprise, a hammock. He believed I'd spend it on jewels or clothes or something like that, but the look on his face was priceless when he saw me setting up a new hammock to have on the roof of our house. When he asked why of all things, I chose to buy a hammock, I told him it was because I wanted to spend quiet moments with him on it and not have to feel the world beneath us. He couldn't help but smile when I told him that and help me to finish setting it up. That first day after it was ready was one of the happiest days of my life as Rem and I laid on it together and I swear, we never wanted to get off as it felt like we were floating off of the Earth with each other and I could live like this forever. A few weeks later, I was lying on the hammock in the middle of the day, reading a book that I just couldn't put down while Remington was working on some new songs in house. I was in the middle of the book when hands blocked my sight, and I smiled after feeling his ring-studded fingers on my face. "Hi, Rem", I said and then I turned to look at him as he leaned down from the side of the hammock and place a gentle kiss on my lips, "I'm bored, Carina", he whined like a child, "I miss being on stage and my attention span is short."
I rolled my eyes, "Then read a book or something", I suggested, he climbed into the hammock and lied next to me with an arm propping his head up as he looked down at me, "I don't know what to read though." Then he stared at me and the book I was reading and rested his head on my shoulder before looking at me with big, puppy eyes and asking me, "Can you read to me the one you're holding right now?" I turned to him in surprise and blushed a little at his proposal. "I-I don't know, I mean... Are you sure, Rem? It's a little slow in the beginning." Then, without warning, he pulled me closer to have me straddling on top of his body, causing my face to heat up as he looked at me with a beautiful grin on his face and his gorgeous, brown eyes looking up at me with anticipation, "If you were the one narrating, I'd know I wouldn't want to miss out on the story." I ended up covering my face with my book as my face got redder. Remington chuckled at my expression and then I removed my book away from my face as I stated, "O-Okay."
I saved my current place in the book with my bookmark and then flipped back to the beginning of it while laying the book on Rem's chest. It felt a little weird to be reading a book out loud, and it didn't help that I was super nervous with Rem so close to me. But as I delved myself in the story again and Rem's holding me close with his hand on my back rubbing it soothingly, I felt more relaxed and collected and when I glanced at his face once in a while, Remington looked so genuinely into what I was reading. Or maybe he just loved seeing me talk and get into the story that it made him smile. "Carina...", he interrupted me in the middle of the chapter I was reading and then I looked away from the pages and then at him, "Yes, Remington?" "I could listen to you talk, read, sing all day and I'd never get bored. Your voice is so nice to hear, like you don't hide anything, its just...calm and honest." I was speechless when he said that, and then I closed my book before straddling closer to his face, my hands wrapping around the back of his neck as he tucked some hair behind my ear. "I could say the same thing about you, Rem", I told him as I leaned closer to his face, "Your voice is so relaxing to hear and especially when you're singing. It was like the angels lent their voices to you because every time I hear you sing, I feel like I'm in heaven."
I blushed a little when I said that and he gave me a beautiful smile before pressing his lips against mine. I kissed back softly and gently held his face in my hands. I may or may not have dropped my book onto the floor as I felt myself getting lost in his kisses as he held me close to him. He then gripped me tightly as he flipped us around in the hammock so that I was under him and he was on top, continuing to kiss me passionately and then move his lips down to my neck and shoulder where I began to lose my breath. Smiling to myself, I joked, "Are we about to make love in a hammock?" He stopped for a minute to look at me and respond with a smirk, "There's a first time for everything, ma chérie." I gazed into his eyes and let out a soft whimper as he held the back of my head and pull me back to his lips as I let my mind evaporate as we lost ourselves into each other while the sun began setting.
