Sound to sleep

7 1 2

In the silence of the night,
As I cradle my child so tight,
I whisper softly, "Sleep, my dear,
For tomorrow, a new day will appear."

As I stroke her hair with tender care,
I think of the struggles that we bear,
Of the challenges we face each day,
As a single mother, in every way.

I work so hard to provide,
To ensure my child never goes without,
Yet sometimes it feels like a losing fight,
And I wonder if I'll ever get it right.

But then I see my child's peaceful face,
And I'm reminded of my love and grace,
Of the strength that comes from within,
And the determination to never give in.

So I hold my child a little bit longer,
And I feel my heart grow stronger,
For I know that as long as we're together,
We can face any storm, any weather.

And so I whisper once again,
"Sleep tight, my love, until the morning's end,
For we have each other, and that's all we need,
To conquer any challenge, to succeed."
