Im sorry.

I thought I had it all figured out,
Love came in and turned my world around,
A guy I thought was worth my time,
I gave my all, my heart, my mind.

But in the rush of this new romance,
I forgot about my lifelong dance,
With a friend who's like a daughter to me,
Someone I love and cared for deeply.

I didn't mean to hurt her or push her away,
It's just that love got in the way,
And in the midst of all the chaos and thrill,
I didn't realize what I had left behind still.

But now I see how I've been wrong,
And I'm sorry for ignoring her for so long,
She means the world to me, and I'll make it right,
I'll reach out to her and hold her tight.

I'll listen to her stories and share my own,
I'll be there for her, never again alone,
I'll make it up to her and never forget,
That friends like her are the best you can get.
