Tears fall like rain
As I try to explain
The pain and the shame
Of the abuse and assault that came
I try to speak
But my voice is weak
My words stutter and break
As I recount the horrors I can't shake
My body was violated
My mind left isolated
I thought I was strong
But the pain lingers on
I cry for the innocence lost
For the trust that was tossed
For the scars that won't heal
For the memories that are too real
I cry for the justice denied
For the shame that I hide
For the fear that won't subside
For the life that I was denied
I cry for the support I need
For the love that I plead
For the hope that I seek
For the strength that I still keep
Tears fall like rain
As I face the pain
But I won't let it define me
For I am stronger than the abuse and assault that tried to confine me.
