Finnick had barely been gone a day. Evan had gone with him so Emory was a little lonely. She was helping out in the command center when she was called into Peeta's room. She opened the door and she was met with Coin, Plutarch, and Peeta.
"Is everything alright?" Emory asked and Coin shook her head.
"We need more people on the inside. You two, you're experienced, fast–"
"Still under the effects of Tracker Jacker venom," Emory scoffed as a reminder. "Do you not see what it did to Annie? We can't be trusted. That last time I zone out I almost stuck a piece of glass inside a nurse!"
Coin sighed, "we don't have a choice. Do you want to save Finnick?" Emory hesitated before she nodded. "Then you have 1 hour, talk to your siblings, hand off your son, say goodbye, and the aircraft leaves by then."
Emory took a deep breath and nodded to Peeta who started to get unstrapped. She ran back to Cierra who had Cam. She startled her and Enobaria who were in the same room, "Come with me, now!" She shouted. All three girls ran to Annie and Elliot's room. She banged on their door and Annie opened it in a hurry.
"What– what's wrong?" She asked. Emory quickly gave her a card.
"This is the key to Finnick and I's room. You four are in charge of my son. There's a note in Enobaria's bag if Finnick and I don't make it back, I love you all," she quickly gave all of them hugs and kissed her baby. "I love you so, so much. All of this has been and always will be for you."
"What's going on?" Elliot asked, stopping her from walking away.
"I'm being sent to the front lines, in– well, uh, 40 minutes," Emory laughed awkwardly. "Someone tell uncle Cam and Johanna bye for me. I really want to go in person, but I have to go!" She quickly made it back to her room and opened a box under her bed. She was given it when she was able to leave the hospital– her sword that she used in her first game. Plutarch had stolen it and a few other items of the victors while he was there. She took a deep breath for she made a beeline to the hanger.
She met with Peeta and they had 20 minutes left. Some guard walked with them, "Okay, when you get there, you will be given weapons, gear, clothes. A transport vehicle will then meet you and you will be taken inside the Capitol. Falkum–"
"Odair," Emory corrected before she shrugged, there were two of them. "Or just Emory."
He nodded, "Odair, you will make sure he is cuffed at almost all times do you hear me?" Emory didn't understand why, but she nodded anyway. "Good. Only when you are told it is a necessity do you uncuff him."
She smirked as she sat down across from Peeta, "Welcome to the 76th Hunger Games, may the odds be in our favor this year!"

They landed and got in the car. They drove into the Capitol and it looked like it had already been destroyed. She got in the back of the truck with Peeta so there were no windows, but she could hear the outside. Why was there no fighting?
If they were going to the front lines, surely there would be fighting. They would be in the heart of it all. The truck slowed to a stop and Emory could hear a door close. A guy opened the back of the truck and Peeta got out followed by a guard.
"Let's go," the third guard told her and grabbed her arm. She didn't know why but as soon as she got into the car, she was cuffed. He dragged her out of the back and uncuffed her.
She went around the corner of the truck as the guard walked side by side with her. She moved in between the two guards and walked after Peeta. She looked up and could see Finnick's eyes on her. She looked to his right and there was Evan and her uncle.
