Emory grabbed onto Evan's other side as she and Finnick helped carry him out of there. "Come on, come on, come on, come on. Let's go. Keep moving! Keep moving!" Gale yelled as they ran through the tunnel. They were at the subway station and peacekeepers came and shot at them. Emory pulled Finnick and Evan behind a pillar and closed her eyes. She opened a shot directly at both of them and watched them fall to the floor.
"Let's go!" Finnick led them to the others where they ran through the station. Lights were going off up top and incinerating people. They got one of their people as all that was left was his weapon. Emory looked around and saw an electrical box. She shot at it and the beams of lights stopped.
She looked behind them and the ground underneath them was tearing itself apart. She ran faster, pulling Evan and Finnick to the front. Both Katniss and Peeta jumped across the line that showed where the spike in the floor stopped and they fell.
Katniss immediately got back up, but Peeta didn't. "Peeta, come on!" Emory yelled.
"Peeta! Peeta, we have to keep going!"
He shook his head and pounded on it, "I'm a mutt! I can't keep control!"
Katniss ran back over to him, "Yes, you can!"
"Leave me! I'm a mutt!"
"Look at me! Look at me!" She yelled. He did and she grabbed his face, kissing him. "Stay with me."
"Always."
"We have to go!" Emory insisted and they nodded.
Cressida led them, "Come on. I know where we are! I know a place. Up those stairs. Keep going." Finnick slung Evan over his back as he passed out and they ran up the stairs. There were signs everywhere with their faces, Finnick, Katniss, Peeta, everywhere you turned there was a different sign.
They got to a boutique and Cressida banged on the door. Emory pointed her gun around, making sure that there wasn't anybody there. "Someone's coming." Tigris, a costume designer for the games, opened the door and ushered them all in.
"Shut the door, shut the door!" Cressida yelled as they got in and Emory shut it behind them, locking it. She joined Gale and searched the place, making sure that there wasn't anybody else.
They came back and Tigris brought them to a back room. She removed a rug and showed them a secret door to a basement. Emory nodded in appreciation and helped Finnick lower Evan down.
The basement was filled with old makeup, clothes, wigs, you name it. Finnick laid Evan down and you could see he was losing alot of blood. Emory grabbed a long scarf and tied it around his leg, just under his knee. The claws had cut almost down to bone, his foot was basically gone. He opened his eyes and his face looked in pain. "Hey," she smiled at him.
"I'm gonna die," he whispered and she shook her head.
"No, it's almost over," she promised. She was going to make sure of it. "We're going to get you home."
He sighed, "where is home?"
"In 5, with me, with Finnick and Enobaria, with Cierra and Cam–" Emory choked on his name. She sobbed as she remembered what had just occurred. He was dead. She hadn't cried for her family in a while. She cried when she first thought they were dead. She mourned, then she found that half were alive.
She hadn't cried for her parents since, for her mother, the reason she was in the games, her father who made the deal in the first place. She sniffled and Finnick wiped her tears and kissed her head. He looked to be in shock, but was still sweet. "Hey, you remember David?" Emory asked Evan and he nodded.
