Chapter 22

If life gave you reasons to give up, you also have reasons to keep moving and that's my biggest realization so far. Sometimes it drives you to do bad and crazy things, sometimes it makes you think, that you should go to your senses.

After a long and tiring flight, we finally arrived in Canada. Paglabas namin ng luggage area ay nakaabang na si Mom and Dad, all smiles as we walk towards them and giving our parents a big and tight hug. We missed them so much, gusto na lang namin to stay in that moment.

Malaki ang utang na loob namin sa kanila, they were the ones who saved us from our pitiful and cruel past. Ang patient nila sa amin ni Dane, walang palya sa pag-alaga at pagmamahal. I love you, Mom and Dad.

They let us rest dahil nakakapagod ang flight, I felt myself knocked out pagkahiga ko ng kama. The mattress was soft and cold, like a marshmallow. Magkatabi pa rin kami ni Dane ng kwarto, medyo maluwag ang kanya dahil wala masyadong decoration while mine looks like a messy attic. Just to be sure there are no ghosts here.

I just woke up to the smell of grilled meat na si Dane pala ang gumagawa. Dad and Mom were busy preparing other foods, I wonder bat di nila ako ginising habang busy sila. Gosh nakakahiya.

Mom pulled me down the stairs to show the foods, it was a feast.

"Oh my gosh, para saan po to?" tanong ko sa kanila.

Mom suddenly teared up and Dad came to comfort her.

Dad patted my head. "Dane said you almost died, we are this happy that you're still here." They were all smiles today, kahit si Dane na mukang may sama ng loob sa mundo ay masaya rin. Pag nakikita ko siya ay agad na napupunta ang mata ko sa wrist niya, I often check her wrists if may cuts or not.

Tinitignan ko palang ang mga niluto nila pero di ko alam kung mauubos ba namin yon or what. Naglalaway na ko sa sarap kaya I started to feast on the dishes.

I feel so full, everything was delicious and plentiful. Masaya ako na kasama ko ang pamilya ko ngayon. I won't need to worry about anything for a while, I'll just feel their warm embrace.

Medyo nagtataka ako dahil ilang days na walang message si Luna sa akin, ano sobrang busy sa vacation ang babae na yon? Miss na kita.

Nagpunta kami ni Dane sa Mall to buy groceries, grabe naman kasi sila Mama andaming niluto. It was 7pm kaya mas comfortable kami lumabas instead of going out in the morning.

Nasa beverages corner ako to get some soda and juices until I bumped into someone, that someone looks familiar.

"Luna?"

"Diell-"

"Anong ginagawa mo dito sa Canada?"

"Your parents asked me to come over-"

I was completely shocked, gosh my parents really asked her to follow me here. Alam nilang namimiss ko na siya just like how I miss them.

Sabay kaming tatlo na umuwi and ofcourse, Mom and Dad weren't surprised na kasama namin si Luna.

"Tita and Tito, I'm here na po hehe." she greeted them as they hugged each other. Balak ko sana siyang tulungan magluto nang pigilan niya ako.

She was shooking her finger. "Diell, I'll take it from here." Niyakap ko siya from behind at napatili ito.

"Gosh wag dito! I'm preparing our dinner!" as if gusto niyang magmura sa sobrang kaba at hiya. Napanguso siya sa mga tawa ko kaya umalis muna ako to let her cook.

Nag-aayos ako ng mga decorations sa kwarto ko to make it look cool at least. Napapangiti ako sa mga action figures ko na nasa box, lagi kong naaalala ang mga pinagdaanan ko as a child and a punching bag by my late father. I was so amazed na nalagpasan namin ni Dane ang lahat ng yon. Mas lumakas rin ang loob ko dahil may mga taong andyan para sa akin.

Everything that happened after our past tragedy was beautiful, like the sun showing itself after the heavy and angry rain. There's always hope after the storm.

Kung andito man sila Brian, Jae, pati na rin ang circle friends namin ni Luna, buong buo na ang pamilya ko. We enjoyed every single moment as start to spend our vacation here in Canada.

Nanlaki ang mata ko nang maalala na walang extra room for Luna, Dane hates to share room so I had no choice but.... to sleep with her. Nakaayos na rin siya bago humiga sa kama, it was wide and fluffy. Tumabi ako sa kanya at bumungad ang mahigpit niyang yakap.

"I missed you." said Luna, who is cuddling me so much, as if mawawala ako ano mang segundo sa tabi niya. Nakasiksik ang muka niya sa leeg ko habang yakap yakap ko rin siya.

"Namiss rin kita, I'm happy na andito ka sa tabi ko ngayon."

I removed her earrings dahil minsan ay naaabutan kong dumudugo ang lobes niya while sleeping with her earrings, so clumsy but I love her so much. I was tapping her back to sleep, she looks pretty kahit tulog na, hinalikan ko ang noo nito habang pinapatulog siya at ang aking sarili. Tinignan ko rin ang wrists niya habang tulog, there were no fresh cuts that quickly touched my heart. Ginawa niya ang pangako niya sakin dati na hindi niya ako gagayahin.

Papikit pikit na rin ang mata ko sa antok kaya tuluyan ko nang ipinahinga ang sarili. It was a happy and comforting day, I couldn't ask for more.

Parang I don't even deserved what I have right now e, how could these lovely people found reasons to love someone like me, a broken and wandering soul.

I'm still struggling picking up my piece around pero they're willing to help me find every piece, kasi gusto nilang makita na mabuo ulit ako, kung sino nga ba talaga ako.
