Waking up next to a naga and lionataur is truly an experience that will never become normal. Standing from the pillows and stumbling to the bathroom I showered, glancing at the clock and mentally preparing for today. Today was the end of normality. We would keep the barrier around the falls up for a while before taking it down and leaving to cause havoc around the world. It's only 9.30, I mused, imagining how the people of gravity falls will react, finding out about the fact their neighbours where dream demons. The fact I need to act damsel is a pain, but it's workable. I stepped out of the shower and whistled some lyrics as I clicked to dry myself off and summon my casual outfit.
I walked out of the bathroom and down stairs, making breakfast for bill, will and Leo. Sighing I realised I needed to discuss things with Leo and how they wanted to deal with the situation.
"dipper, you forget I can read minds to, I know what's happening already."
Leo said, yawning and grabbing their stack of pancakes and munching on them. I blinked at their casual manner and sighed.
"you seem so okay with the end of the world is uncomfortable."
"eh, who cares about the world, sure I have friends, but they all live here! No one back home was nice. So let's make a deal that my friends won't be hurt either."
I sighed and thought for a few seconds before shaking my head.
"children wouldn't have been harmed anyway, I made sure that was clear with bill and will. So your friends should be kept safe till their late twenty. And if anything they will live in the forest, aponi will allow them, the forest creatures will help them. I'll go down to help as well, no worries there, you can come along too."
They nodded cheerfully, I felt a wave of magic flow over the forests around us and shivered, the runes had activated. I heard bill and will tumbling down the stairs as they looked at me.
"did you just feel tha-"
"it's fine, dears, it's the barrier around the forest being set up before our takeover."
Taking a breath they each sat at the island and ate, leo was kicking their legs before looking to the brothers with a silent glare. The pair flinched as they spoke.
"hurt my brother and I will tare you limb from limb for all eternity and feed your eternal soul to the darkest entity I can find."
They said with a stoney voice, two nodding demons, who seemed to forget that about a week ago their powers returned. Leo nodded and hopped down from the island walking to the shoe rack.
"me and dip can go to the park and act normal so you can do your whole song and dance of betrail. Remember, portal on the ground."
They said, walking outside as the three of us blinked blankly.
"oh okay, we'll ignore that, I'll go grab the rift for you guys..."
I said, walking to my Lab and walking down the stairs. Picking up the orb I sighed, my eyes glazed over as I thought. I'm I really sacrificing everything for them? Sure i made a deal to protect the ones I care about but... I shook my head. No. No, if they knew who I was they'd never accept me, they find the way to kill me and I'd never be free. I snarled as I felt the throns from a rose crown grow, cutting my head. Hate it or love it this isn't something you can undo.
"I can only hope they forgive me."
I muttered, walking and placing the rift I front of the pair, leaving to leo and driving us to town. 10 am and Im the only one here who knows, besides leo, who is playing with his friends. I smiled and walked to the store, the people talking to their friends and family. I must have looked paranoid cause a store klerk walked up to me.
"Mr.pines! It's good to see you, are you alright?"
I smiled nervously, rubbing my neck, seeing a faint blush over his cheeks. That may come in handy but right now, I need to continue my plan.
"just.... A gut feeling, you know? Nervous and all that, I wanna grab some snacks for my sibling and I,might take my mid off it."
I said, he smiled kindly and held my shoulder.
"you wanna have me walk around with you? It might help your nerves?"
I smiled and nodded, forcing a blush to my cheeks.
"yeah, that'd be appreciated!"
I said walking down the isle as he spoke, seemingly yapping about whatever came to mind. I felt my irritation grow as I grabbed what I wanted.
"thank you for your help, sir, I need to go to my sibling now, can you ring this up?"
I said as chipper as I could, he blushed and smiled at me.
"s-sure, hey, if you don't mind, maybe we could go out sometime? Next week work?"
Withholding a grimace, and smiled politely.
"sorry, Im in a relationship already..."
I said as I payed, packing my things into a bag I heard him sigh.
"sad, well, what can you do."
I smiled and left to the park, glancing to the clock on the tower.
11.56 am.
Not long now.
I sighed and sat, leo running to me.
"can I have the box of hearts?"
They said, I handed them the box of gummy hearts as I watched the time tick closer to the end. Leo held my hand and gave me some gummy hearts.
"you okay, dip?"
They said, some people looking to us.
"yeah, one of my gut feelings, you know?"
They frowned, the clock ticking to 59.
"your gut feelings are usually right, Dip dot."
People tensed slightly at that but continued on. I smirked internally as it ticked down to 30 seconds.
"I know, it's probably nothing, Lion."
