"Why dose my head hurt so much?" Linkin groaned as he sat up in his bed. Looking around he saw he was in his room at the boarding house and after a moment of head scratching he remebered how his uncle dropped him off. His mouth still tasted like the alcohol from the funeral and he nearly gaged.

After a long shower, gargelling a whole bottle of mouth wash and scrubbing his teeth to near pure white the tierd teen made his way downstairs for some brakefast.

...

"I smell pancakes." Damon said appearing in the kitchen.

Linkin waved his hand wich made a plate hover out of the cabnit and onto the kitchen island. "You'd be correct. Want some?"

Damon looked at the boy with obvious suspicion as he served up some fresh and steamy choc chip pancakes. "What did you do? Poison them." He smirked.

"Try one and find out if your brave enough." Linkin said playfully. He started whisteling as he prepared another batch.

"Whats going on in here?" Stefan asked as he made his appearance.

"I hinestly don't know brother." Damon replied.

"Makin pancakes." Linkin said over his shoulder befor whisteling again.

Both the Salavtore brothers looked to eachother. Something wasn't right.

"Have you herd from Elena or Bonnie?" Stefan asked.

"Yeah, im meeting up with Elena at the fare to help organise some things after I have lunch with my uncle. ALso Bonnie and I arn't talking right now so theres no need for her to call me." He chimmed.

"You and the Bennett are like non-biological siblings." Damon pipped up. "Since when do you too not talk?"

Linkin piled out some more pancakes onto a plate with his cutlery as he turned around to face the two. "Well since she nearly got me killed, got my dad murdered and made me respocible for killing another one of Jeremys girlfrieds, I think it's safe to say we need some distance."

"Fair." Damon nodded.

Stefan didn't like it. The way Linkin was talking like he wasn't bothered by everything thats happend and how he just kept smiling at them. "Wha-"

"Now im going to go enjoy the breakfast I didn't really work hard on in my room." Linkin said as he waslked out of the kitchen befor any more questions could be asked. "I'll see you guys at the fare."

Stefan waitied until he was out of ear shot befor glairing at his brother. "What did you do?"

"Why are you asking me?" Damon said defensivly.

"Something going on with Linkin. Ever since the fire it's like he's had a whole personality change." Stefan argued.

"What, you think I compelled him? News flash brother, we can't compel him because he's a witch."

"Than how do you explain it?"

"Who cares Stefan. Besides, after all the little witch had been through he could probably use a brake from all the sad and sappy teenager crap." Damon admitted. "He's porbably just blocking out his grief and wants to have some fun." He added picking up the spare plate of pancakes. "Now if this interigations over I have some delicious smelling breakfasr to eat."

Stefan sighed as his brother walked out of the room.

...

"You got a girlfriend." Mason Lockwood asked from across the table.

Linkin snorteed. "Girls arn't really my thing."

Mason went a little wide eyed.

The two had mett up at the grill.
