It had been a couple days since Enid and Wednesday met. Wednesday seemed to have no interest in her roommate at all.

Enid got up from her bed and changed into her uniform. Wednesday was already up, the sound of a cello outside being the hint of her end of slumber. She wondered how her roommate got so good at it. Oh it was so beautiful! She smiled brightly before leaving the room and heading to the courtyard.

She smiled as she looked around before seeing her friend yoko sitting under the shade from a tree. She quickly went to her and sat down. "Hey Yoko! How are you? " she asked. "I'm good. I hear you have a new roommate.. Wednesday right? Apart of the Addams. " she asked.

Enid nodded. "Wednesday Addams. She's quite the... Black sheep. Literally. She's black and white. Her humor is dry but.. I like it! I don't know why but whenever I'm around her I feel giddy.. " she mumbled. Yoko raised a brow. "You sure you don't have a crush on this... Possible serial killer? Incarnation of Ted Bundy, The Night Stalker, Jeffery Dahmer?" She asked with a grin.

Enid shook her head. "No I barely know her! Besides.. " she looks over at Ajax talking to his friend Xavier. "I have my eyes on someone else. " she smiled. Yoko followed her eyesight and nodded slowly. "Ah.. The idiot of the school. Are you sure about this? "

Enid nods quickly. "Yes! He's kind and so cute. " she exclaimed. Yoko nodded slowly. "Alright then. If you say so. " she said softly. "I'll see you around Yoko! " she smiled. She then got up and started heading to her class, by the way the students started making a clear path she could tell Wednesday was on her way as well.

The first class for them was fencing. Enid wasn't very good at it but she was learning. And that's what the class was for, learning. Everyone was wearing their fencing uniform. Yoko offered to fench with Enid and teach her the basics.

Yoko smiled. "So the vest is called lamé, it shows the score by... Science. The swords we use in class is a épée. " she said before beginning to show her foot work and different moves.

Everyone then stopped. The room went silent. Enid only knew one person who could do that. She turned and saw Wednesday walking into the room, wearing a black lamé.

Enid watched her challenge Bianca. She accepted with a smirk. They fought one battle that ended in a tie. Wednesday then proposed a military challenge. Bianca accepted with a snarky. "Let's see if you bleed in black and white. "

The two fought until blood started dripping from Wednesday's forehead. "No.. " Enid muttered with a whine. Everyone then gasped when red stained Bianca's lamé. There were two cuts on her leg. "Wednesday wins. " calls the teacher.

Enid smiled brightly and jumped up. "Go Wednesday! " she exclaimed. Wednesday looked over at Enid. She could have sworn she saw a smile.

As Wednesday walked out of the room she muttered something. "That shows I can protect my mate.. " but no one heard her.

Yoko raised a brow at Enid who looked back at her with a confused look. "What? "

The school bell then rang.

Enid then went to her next class. It was botomy. She sat with Yoko and Wednesday was with Xavier. Enid bit her lip, she wanted to be the one next to Wednesday...

The teacher cleared his throat. "Can anyone tell me what benefits the black Dahlia has? "

Wednesday raised her hand. "Yes Wednesday? " he asked. "When crushed and mashed it can used to put on stings of insects. Which would be useful for my acquaintance Eugene. The beekeeper. " she said.

The teacher nodded with a smiled. "Very good Wednesday. " he said. Bianca then raised her hand. "You can also use the petals in a foot soak to help tired feet. " she said with a smirk.

The teacher nodded with nervous smile. "Very good Bianca. " he said before handing out work. "Today we are going to be... "

The bell rang to signal lunch.

Everyone left the classroom and went to the cafeteria. Enid went to a table and Ajax went to her. "Mind if I sit here? " he asked with a smile. She smiled awkwardly. "Sorry.. But my friend Yoko and Wednesday sit here. " she said.

Ajax nodded slowly. "I'll see you at the Poe cup next week. " he said with a smile before walking off. Wednesday sat next to her. "What's the Poe cup. " Enid jumped from her monotone voice. "Where did you- never mind.. The Poe cup is a competition every year where all the dormitories compete in a canoe race then a foot race to the flag then back. Whatever team wins get a trophy, the Ophelia Hall hasn't won in ages. Oh! And each team picks an Edgar Allan Poe story to base their team name on! And there's no rules of course! " she gleamed.

Wednesday nodded, feeling her stomach churn. Curse her family and the stupid soulmate fate. At least Enid didn't push the bond away... Yet.

Enid continued on. "I hear the teams are, The Pit And the Pendulum, Amontillado, Gold Bug and my team, The Black Cat! " she exclaimed.

Wednesday nodded. "Don't count me on joining. I don't like going to pointless competitions for a trophy that means nothing. Real competition is battle, if you're lucky, to the death. " she said as she ate the soup in front of her. Enid hummed as a plate of steak appeared in front of her. "I understand. You're different than everyone.. You have different views. " she smiled. "I like that.. You're unique!"

The two then finished eating before the bell rang.

Their next class was potion (and poison) making. Wednesday loved this class, it was her specialty.

The teacher smiled as she put the needed ingredients on everyone's desk. "Today we are going to be learning about a potion I'm sure everyone has heard of. Also while I explain, please take notes! " she instructed and everyone grabbed a notebook. "A love potion can be very dangerous and should only be used when its out of kindness, not trying to get your crush who doesn't feel the same to fall in love with you. And the potion can only do so much, it can't last forever and it's not gonna be like they're utterly smitten. " they explained softly.

They then looked at the ingredients in front of the desk. "You will need a pinch of lime zest and a sliver of ginger. Then you will put a little of your own saliva, one spit is enough. Then stir and it should glow bright pink. Begin. "

Everyone then started making their potions. Wednesday scowled. "To think people are dumb enough to try to use it to make people fall for them. " she said, sprinkling zest in. Enid hummed. "I rather they actually fall for me rather than be artificial by a potion... Like the mate bond, it's completely natural. "

Wednesday looked at her in the mention of a mate bond. "I think maybe.. I've found my mate. He makes me feel so giddy. " Enid smiled to herself.

Wednesday looked into her potion, spitting into it. He... Well it certainly wasn't her. She started itching at her sleeve. Why was her arm itching?

Wednesday went to her dorm after school finished. Enid was hanging out with Yoko. She groaned as she itched her sleeves before taking her jacket off and rolling her sleeves up. "What...? " she muttered. Thing ran over. "It's the curse... When your mate doesn't like you back. That's what your father was talking about, how he hoped nothing went wrong. " he signed.

Wednesday snarled. "This is the curse? Great.. No worries. And before you ask why this is happening... If you do I'll cut your fingers off and feed them to my piranhas. " she said wiping the black flowers off her skin that started growing there before rolling her sleeves down.

She'll just hide it from Enid.
